Storing 3PH Attachments

I have a three car garage i keep my tractor and attachments in. I have other stuff in their too. I was wondering what is the best way to stor by attachments. Like my finish mower, Landscape Rake, and Blade. I want to keep them inside but don't want them taking up a bunch of my room. I also want to keep them accessible because I change attachments a lot. Any ideas on how to do this??

Dave; If you search the site, you should find some ideas on making dollies to slide the equipment around. Quite a few people do this.

Dave,

A trip to HomeDepot for some 2.5 inch wheels and some 2 x 4 or 2x 6 studs, 3 inch screws and glue, carriage bolts is all you need. I have all my toys, I mean tools on dollies. It is a lot easier to get them on an off the tractor and move them around the shed.

Guy I know built some real nice 'shelving' and stacks all his attachemnts in his barn. Then uses the FEL to pick and pull what he wants.

<font color="black"> </font> I just did the same thing for my JD210 attachments (snow blower, mower deck, front blade, tiller). I built a good frame out of 2X4's & 4x4's with 3/4" T&G shelves. I use the TC18 FEL to move them around. Works great and I have all that occupying a space of 5'X4' (about 6' high).

I was thinking of doing the same for my new 3ph attachments, but they are alot heavier and don't fit into the FEL the way the JD attachments do. This is probably the route I will go, but I'll be watching this thread for other suggestions. Eventually, when my yard starts growing I'll probably be storing the FEL more often also.... maybe.

Sounds like you need box dollies.. or similar.. heavy duty flower pot dollies... as for stacking.. I guess you could paletize every thing and use a scaffolding rack system.. but I don't have any experience there.. I just set my stuff on wood or concrete blocks to keep it of fhte ground.

I ended up buying some heavy duty pallet racks from a store that went out of business. You can find them by searching for "store liquidators". I ended up with 2 sets of 4x8x10' 40,000lb racks for $45 each. Funny thing was that I originally went the the store to buy lumber to build racks. The lumber price was much higher than the racks. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
