Mine doesn't. The BH will freewheel for a couple minutes after shutdown. There is an overspin clutch, about it I think.

I'm guessing that when you disengaged the PTO the brake engaged and brought your already slower spinning blades to a screeching halt.

Jeff is right… You can see this by trying to turn the pto when it is not engaged… it will only turn about a half turn.
Also hydraulic, live-independent has nothing to do with the main clutch… it is independent. KennyV

Just a last followup after some hogging this weekend. I can shut the tractor down, blade spinning, disengauge the pto and nothing happens. BH still spins but I think the overspeed clutch stops clicking.

Now this is with the tranny in neutral, if it's in gear I think something would make a clank. But then the whole tractor might want to move.
