I sent you a PM...call me. The man you talked to was not one of our sales reps. I know who talked to you and when we talk I will explain what he said, why he said it, and what my take on the situation is...it will all make sense then. Thanks.

Not sure if it will be possile, but if possible I sure would also like to know how what that guy said made sense! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If not possible to post here, well, I'll still be able to sleep at night... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd give the dealer a call and see what he says.

To me, a great dealer/salesman is someone who will ask what you want to do with a tractor, find out your experience level, and ask WHAT do you think you want.

If all that meshes, he should walk you to that tractor, and point out any pros & cons of how you plan to use it. He might suggest one a little bigger and a little smaller, or a comparible brand that he sells.

Only if you plan to do something that he KNOWS will not work or work well, should he suggest that you are wrong in your thinking. Things like overseeding your lawn with a 200HP articulated unit, or digging a 20 acre pond with a 15HP unit come to mind.

But if you want to dig a 1 acre pond, in easy digging soil, and you have a LOT of time, he should point that out to you, show you the pitfalls, and suggest something different.

If you aren't far off base, he should sell you what you want. His biases are important to him, but your situation and desire can be different and just as valid--moreso actually, since you are the buying it!

My dealer did just that, and it was a pleasant experience.

Thanks to all who replied. I have received some excellent advise from everyone. I also have touched base with the dealer in question and we are on our way of revisiting and addressing all the items that were discussed.

Thanks again ya'll
