Strength shear-bolt?

Look'n good Anders. Those little BX23's will give you a full days work and not miss a beat. Thats a good idea on makeing use of an existing sound structure.

Whom ever stacked those stones back in the 1880's must have had a fascination w/the ancient Egyptians and used similar tactics /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only drawback I see to my BX23 is that the steering wheel doesn't come back far enough. I just about have to lean forward to steer. I noticed those European market BX's have these extended "deep dish" steering wheels that seem to push the wheel back further. I contacted a dealer in England about info on them and was told that due to their dealers agreement w/Kubota that they wouldn't condone mixing parts from the seperate markets. Anyways, I'm wondering if'n one of those deep-dish European steering wheels would bolt up to a North American BX.
Not that your thread needs yet another hi-jack /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I ever come across another of the BX's over here I'll make sure to check it out. I know what you mean.

Anders,

Really enjoyed looking at your pics. Looks like some mighty fine country side around you. Is that lake with the swans on your property?

You certainly are giving that Kubota a real workout. Any breakdowns or mechanical problems while you were doing all of this?

Another question ............. how well did your tractor pull the box blade and what size box blade do you have?

Thanks!

Swans and lake / river are on property. But 7 swans has now been reduced to 1. 4 kids missing and parents gone south for the winter. I'm a bit worried about the one kid that still is here as it can become real cold. But, nature has it's own ways I guess. Aren't the parents supposed to bring the kid along with them? This one only have a few white feathers and doesn't look like it's ready to go anywhere. Sure has a long neck, but that doesn't help it fly.

About the bota: No problems. I have used and abused it and it has never let me down. Very low fuel comsumption. Backhoe doesn't have enough reach and the fel could have been stronger, but then we are talking about a bigger tractor. For it's size it has plenty of power all kinds of ways. Only thing I'm not happy about is the size of the front wheels. For a person wanting or needing a small tractor for private use it sure should be considered.

The worst part is done for my bota. Next year I'll hire bigger stuff to do the toughest digging and then use my tractor to do the finish. Maybe I should have done so this year also. Point is, I'm an amateur. I need to take my time with my projects and I want to work whenever I feel like it. That's why I bought one instead of renting. In the long run it will pay for itself.

After that? Well, I have no idea? Guess I have to make up some projects or buy a summer-house or something...

Box blade is 48 inch. I haven't used it much yet. Enough to experience that I didn't get the hang of it from the start and enough to see that it's a great tool. It looks very nice and is heavy. Think I'll use it more next year. Perfect size for the tractor.

Only thing missing is a slip-clutch. I was certain I ordered one with the tiller, but my papers doesn't mention it. Dang. Would have loved to have one as I stalled the tractor 2 times when hitting a stone and a root.

I have no mmm. I didn't see the need for it's a it was a small tractor I wanted to have. Not a lawnmower. Don't think I'll buy one. No real need. However, that opinion can change in a snap /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
