No, not me! A crew is mowing the ROW today on the road that my house is off of. They were working maybe a mile down the road heading my direction when.... they decided to park it in a safe place for the night lol! There was a driveway right behind it so I was able to pull in and snap a pic from behind. Went on down, turned around, and came back and pulled off as close as I could get to it without falling off in the other ditch myself! This is a very busy road during the rush hours so I wasn't about to get out and walk up to it to take a closer pic, I just zoomed in close as it would get.

From what I could tell, the side mounted flail mower was sitting on hard ground. Maybe even part of the undercarriage is sitting on ground too? That ditch looks to be rather deep and pretty narrow at the same time. I think he was trying to keep the tires right at the edge of the ditch but maybe it was soft/loose and gave way under the weight? Looking at the first picture I'm not sure if that right rear is stuck in a wet, oozy type of mud, or if it's just really dry, sandy dirt?? It's sunk up to the top of the rim anyway!!

So I left there and went on into town to do my errands and met their maintenance truck followed by another big tractor pulling a big 8ft bush hog (not 3pt) behind it. Looked like they were headed to the rescue!

About 45 minutes later, I was headed back by there on the way home the tractor was still stuck, with no help in sight!! It looked like it had been moved though, as it was a little further from the driveway and more dirt was piled up from the left rear tire spinning. Apparently they realized it was going to take a big wrecker to extricate this stuck puppy! :p

Thanks for the pics.
Sure making a mess of the ditch. :)
Maybe the drainage isn't very good there and some water is trapped with no place to run off.
I suspect that happens a lot to those mowing ROW.

No, I travel that road quite a bit and there's no shoulder warning signs on it.

Stuck in mud and in a ditch, they are gonna have fun pulling that one out.

That tactor is bent right over sideways.

Lucky it didn't flip.:confused2:

I wonder if they could use the side flail to push against the bank and put a board under the tire in the mud to pull out.

I've got several old mailboxes. I think I would have mounted one on it just for fun.

Well, they got it out. Went back into town today after work and it was gone, as I would expect. I did get a look at the ditch and it did have water in it. As someone suggested, it looked like the ditch had a blockage in it causing it to hold water. He just turned that small area into a bog! I would have liked to watch the unsticking, there's usually something interesting that happens when you do that sort of stuff!!

Suppose somebody had to volunteer to steer it as they dragged it out?

"Big-time" What?, I dont even see any mud in the pictures. I think I could have got that out with a 1/2 ton 2-wheel drive pickup. Big-time is when you got to bring in dozers and excavators to get the machine out. I have not met a mud-hole yet that has been a match for my 4wd tractor with loader and R1 tires that I have been running the last 5 years. When the tires dont pull me thru, the loader does. If I ever do push it a little too far, I am sure I will be needing a dozer or excavator to get me out. In the old days, when all I had were 2wd's, I would get stuck, usually worse than in that picture, 3-4 times a season.

This towing job cost about $700.

The semi was overloaded and sunk to his axles.

Tow truck costs over $500,000 and the boom rotates like on an excavator as well as travels back and foreward for best angle.
