Snow Stuck in the snow

/ Stuck in the snow #51
I knew I shouldn't have read this post the other day. Sure enough I went out today and got the two left wheels off the road and in the ditch. Loader on the front, blade on the back, stuck high and dry. Couldn't get enough leverage with the bucket and the weight favored the ditch. I would have taken pictures but then my wife would have found out and I wouldn't have heard the end of it. So, I figured I better just grab the truck and start pulling while i still had some pride left.

Lesson learned "Don't read the stuck in anything post!"

Hayden,

I bought and installed a set of "Duo-Grip" (H pattern) chains for my 5030. (R1 Ag's)

We get big snow, lots of ice, and fairly cold (late Dec and Jan is always minus degree time). We are snow and ice covered now, and so far with the chains on, I have plowed about 4 miles of road and pulled out a large truck that was stuck. Prior to having the chains, with R1 Ag's, I was continually sliding sideways while stationary, and quick loss of traction while plowing. Now I have no loss of traction or even a hint thereof.

I like to post " and ' as well as temperatures in F for our American brothers :)

Funny but most Canadians still use $/lb as opposed to $./kg though

ha-ha-I did the same thing last winter and I ended up with my rear blade stuck behind a maple tree:eek:. I had to cut down that little maple to get the tractor out. Chains keep my tractor on the road/path/driveway.
