By golly TonyF......sounds like you built a shovel road to get her out.....Bobby Goodson would be proud of you. Discovery Channels Swamp Loggers.....I like to watch that show. :)

I love that show.:D Those guys have sunk, out of site, one of their machines before.

I have had the Big RED Beast stuck up to the axles before. Took me and my neighbors about 2 hours to cut enough short logs to shove under the tires. I would lift up and get enough logs under the tires to drive about 2 feet, then we would have to do the lifting and log shoring again 4 times. Also, I was told if you don't need another machine to pull you out of the muck, then you are just "delayed".:laughing::laughing:

I had a similar "delay" experience a couple years back. Biggest problem was that it was right near the road, so I'm sure it was an entertaining show for passerbys. :)

Many years ago my neighbor took his dad's 4WD Kubota L3400 into a dry creek bottom that must have had 4' of sand in it. He managed to bust through the surface of the sand and the Ag tires didn't have enough float to help him. When he came and got me to pull him out, he was buried up to both axles in a dry sandbox. He was really embarrassed to have to ask for help, but the nice thing was that when I pulled him out, there was no mess to clean up; just a sandy tractor. :D

What ticked me off the most about this delay was I had my digital camera hanging in the case from the rops the whole time. Rain was coming and I was kind of panicky and plumb forgot to take photos.

I have been delayed twice since that day, but have a supply of rotten firewood handy, so I just needed a wheelbarrow instead of a chainsaw.

I do remember now, another time when the tractor was new and I was learning dos and donts. I was delayed in a "dry" hole I just removed a stump from. I was dozing in the hole and went too far into the hole and was hung up on the subframe. All wheels were spinning and I was too low in the hole for the hoe and outriggers to lift me up. I was still breaking in the engine and didn't know the power of the hoe and outriggers at full engine rpm. I had to use a 4 foot hi lift jack on the wheels to lift her up. I like to think I know enough now to not do that again. But I might again someday on ground that ripples and gives way.
