... okay, I'll bite.
What's a stump dragger?
... hoping it's not like a henway or a diquefer ...

Leave the trunk 6' tall so you can use it as a lever then get busy w/ the BH. Works every time...

No its a serious question but it would be a good one like headlight fluid. I used a chain with my truck hook snapped busted out back window that was my dumb *** attact lucky it hit on pass side here one though. Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot and anyone going faster than you is a maniac ;)

Have you been talking to my Dad?

About the stump puller - I have been having good luck on hardwood stumps about 8 inch diameter and under using subsoiler. I hook the point under the stump & lift with the 3pt. I haven't had much luck with bigger game and haven't given them a serious effort with the tractor.

Artisan's method sounds like it would work, too. Use the 6 foot trunk as a pry bar. Just be careful how you attach to your tractor. In general, I like to use a heavy rope with a snatch block so I'm not in the line of fire if there's a recoil when there's pulling to be done.

stump puller, or stump dragger?

if you are wanting to pull stumps. do a search here on TBN for A frames and tree puller, along with chain chokes. put metal A frame up near tree. run a chain around bottom of tree and up over A frame, and then down to tractor or truck. the A frame transfer forces of pulling horizontal to vertically, and pulls up on the tree vs side ways.

if you leave say 9 feet of trunk on bottom of the tree, you can use place chain around top and pull tree and roots out. or perhaps use FEL (front end loader) of tractor to push tree over.

backhoes for tractors, or excavators do good.

if you are not going to plow, till area, you could rent a stump grinder.

if you are wanting to drag a stump / log. getting the end nearest to pull vehicle up and off the ground some so it does not dig into the ground helps a lot. if you can get get end up on say a small pull behind car dolly or they make a kinda of a trailer. that you place near end of the log. and then use some rachet straps, to lift end of log up. and then hook up to hitch of truck or tractor and pull log to were ever.

not really sure what your after but I saw some stump spades on a search a few days ago, looked like there were for bob cat type loaders,

a short heavy triangle pointed bucket,
some had teeth on the edges of the buckets triangle and heavy flat point on the front that one could cut roots and pry with,

hard to explain, easy to do:

hook to the back side of the stump, run the chain over the top, over a levered post and onto the tractor. Kind of like a front foot judo throw.

I lifted out some 2000 lb stumps with a 1300 lb tractor that way. Roots were cut first.
