Does Kubota make a sub-soiler for the Bx-22?

Don't know about Kubota but King Kutter has an XB series of equipment for Sub Compacts. I bought the middle buster/sub soiler combo for my BX22. Used it once and seems to work fine. Ordered mine through the local TSC store.

Only problem I found was that where the top link fits into the flange was not quite wide enough to let the top link ball to slide in. Had to spread it apart a little to make things fit.

Couldn't spread mine, Dave, had to touch it to the belt sander a little. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I bought a KK XB sub-soiler/middlebuster a few months ago. I was very disappointed with the quality of the unit.

Had to spread the yoke where the top link attaches
Bad paints runs and unpainted areas (a KK trademark)
Poor weld joints
KK logos installed upside down
Bolts to hold the sub-soiler blade on were the wrong size
No backing plate to install the sub-soiler blade (I had to fab one)

I called KK to alert them to the quality issues but I could tell that they weren’t interested in quality issues. I wasn’t asking for money back nor was I interested in sending the unit back. I just wanted to let them know that they had some major quality problems.

On the positive side, I have used the sub-soiler to dig trenches to lay wire and it works fine. It is the correct size for my BX2200 3PH.

I've heard a lot of trouble specificaly out of the XB series from KK i bought a std. KK subsoiler and it seems to be welded good and fit perfect on top link. Is the kubota top link slightly wider than std? Is the XB for sub compacts?

shady1701...When I talked with the folks at KK they said that they used a Kubota BX2200 to design and test the XB implements. They said that they would look into the upperlink issue when they had some free time (that was months ago). The guy I talked to said they wern't selling a lot of XB product so XB problems don't have a high priority. When I mentioned that they installed their logos upside down he said "that's not the first time that has happened".

I've got a Gearmore that I use on my tractor. Don't know if it would fit the BX22 - it is nearly too tall for me to lift far enough to provide clearance when I'm "traveling" with it. But the quality is good - it's darn heavy for such a small implement - and it digs nice and deep.

I got a subsioler/ripper with my bx22 when I purchaced the tractor it is a gearmore ripper model GR100 I think it is for a full size tractor. It is extremly stout the steel on the blade is one inch thick and the cutting edge is 2" wide it digs in and stops my tracor. Now my soil is hard pan hard and dry soil that is full of rocks. If I control how deep the ripper penetrates it works ok every ten feet or so I pop out foot ball size rocks ! I also bought it to run some irrigation lines. I want to try it out after a good fiew days of rain and the soil is softened up. I think this tool will outlast a couple of tractors ! I payed $245 dollars for the ripper with shovel. Could anyone post some pictures of the sub compact soil buster thanks David.
