yep.. I use the triangles sort of as 'due dilligence'

its proof I'm trying to be visible and safe.. IE.. CYA for leagal issues if some drunk moron or texting teenager runs into the back of my tractor on the side of the road broke down after running thru 100' of reflective triangles.. etc.

EXCELLENT IDEA !!!
I have never really understood why a commercial vehicle is required to carry them, the size alone of the truck makes them much more visible than a car or pickup.

Even big trucks can be diffcult to see at night (especially during inclement weather). Also, with a breakdown, the rig might not make it all the way to the shoulder.
I carry one of those collapsible triangles in both our Subaru and the Nissan pickup.

As far as the tractor...well, haven't done anything with the 4400 (yet) but I had reflectors (Harley Davidson license plate reflectors, actually) spaced all around the back of the ROPS and reflective tape on the sides of the ROPS and the loader arms. I do this as I am on the road when plowing snow...and that work is most frequently done in the wee hours (0200-0400) of the morning.

Picture is of the 790. I hadn't added the tape to the loader arms yet, but it was on the sides of the ROPS. Looking at this picture....think I'll put the tape on the 4400's loader masts as well as the arms and ROPS. I don't have access to those reflectors any longer.

playing safe, granted city folks, may see a different view of things. vs them country folks. you get into them curves, and foggy areas, even on straight a ways with guard rails, but even just an easy genital ditch on a straight away. it can be rather hard to see what is in front of you. and yes that is paying attention with average eye site. defensive driver goes along ways, so does being a defensive tractorer.

folks simply do not pay attention, or slow down. if ya ever been on highway changing tire that is on same side of traffic, ya gotta work up some guts as ya feel the wind coming off vehicles passing you only a few inches away. though even on a regular 2 lane road (one lane going each way). you still might not be able to pull over far enough. to deal with a break down.

Now that I'm a little older I find a claw hammer very handy for adjusting the toplink, gives a lot more leverage than just the two welded on handles. All the other sugestions seem like good ideas also.
