No, I don't have a clue on the Gear Vendors deal. I wish I did. I think I'd press for an explanation. You might be surprised at what you find out.

Mark, before I go running off to become an Amsoil dealer what does one do to become such? I'd hate to call them up without even a clue about what I'm talking about. I've been to the web site which is pretty good (better then RedLine's). I figure I can at least sell some of it to my sisters and their husbands (I have 7 sisters), Rat...

P.S. will I have to develop that hard sell used car mentality, wear polyester and grease my hair in order to move this stuff?

Well Bird, twice I have done the unthinkable to it and both times it came through just fine, none the less, I'm still stupid. Twice now I have gotten on the highway and had it kick in while in 4WD, you can make some big noise pretty fast in this arrangement. Sure is a fast way to slow down, front tires will actually lay down some rubber and then that refreshing aroma of hot rubber fills the cab, I just hope no one was watching, man I can be stupid. Someday I gotta get that 4WD disconnect to the solenoid tied in. Rat...

Rat - It's really very simple: You call Amsoil and tell them you want to become a dealer. They'll ask you who referred you. You can tell them my name. Then they'll send you a form and ask you for $20. Then they'll send me $10 and a couple bucks every time you buy $100 worth or so. Email me your address and I'll send the $10 back to you, so I don't end up with any of your money.

P.S. You shouldn't need to do the "Do-we-cheat-'em-and-how" makeover to sell to your relatives, unless you know something about your relatives that I don't. To sell it to Tractorbynet forum members, though, you'll need every bit of it and then some.

Rat, I'll bet that was interesting. I didn't have 4WD on my truck, but I drove it to Alaska and back before adding the Gear Vendors overdrive, and then went to Alaska and back again after putting the Gear Vendors on it. What a difference in driving pleasure. And yep, Gordon, it really was a nice truck.

What parts of Alaska did you visit? Been there 3 times myself. Have to get the photo scanned of my old Datsun truck next to a 250 ton dump truck I found somewhere on the Stewart highway. The bottom of the rim was about cab height. Rat...

Rat, I drove to Anchorage, Seward, and Fairbanks in '72 with a 3/4 ton Chev. pulling a 25' travel trailer (over a thousand miles of dirt and gravel each way back then). Flew to Anchorage with my brother in a new Cessna 152 in '84 from factory in Kansas, drove up in '90 with the rig I mentioned, and again in '91 and stayed 4 months that year, even drove up to the north slope (Prudhoe Bay) that year (in my brother's truck). Never been in the southern panhandle. One brother lived in Anchorage over 20 years, and the other for over 25 years. I love fishing in Resurrection Bay out of Seward!

p.s. That was me that mentioned the Ford/NH and Kubota dealer was split 50/50 on sales of compact tractors. He was refering only to the smaller ones. The TC33 and smaller and whatever Kubota has in that size group.
