Suspicious Craig's List Ad

I see those types of ads everyday craigslist. Have you ever checked out facebook market place? On there, you will see several adds from all over the country using the same pictures.

Congratulations, you found a tractor selling at about ten percent (or less) of its likely value. I'm sure you could carry on a nice correspondence with "Amanda" who would even offer to ship it free. If a deal looks too good to be true it usually is. Keep shopping.

Say this on Craig's list New Haven CT

Special Value 23 KUBOTA bx22 Rear 3 Point Hitch - farm & garden...

Google search on image shows this:

Kubota BX22 | Dan's Equipment Sales

Looks rather similar!

Andy

The tractor in the first ad linked is shown with some different verbage in my local Craigslist. It seems like a lot of folks are selling "hydrostate" tractors lately.
Yesterday I used a throw away email address and offered "Amanda" $4k plus more money to ship it to me. It's fun to mess with scammers every now and then.

Sometimes all they are looking for is an email address or phone number they can sell to other scammers

What?!?!?! Old Kubota's have ABS and air bags? How come my new tractor doesn't have that?

Not trying to be disrespectful, but why post this stuff here? CL has a spam reporting link. Things I’ve thought fraudulent are usually removed in a matter of hours.

I was thinking the same thing. Just picked up a pretty new 28 hour BX2380 and I cannot find the airbags. If I slam on the brakes it doesn't feel like ABS to me either.

People like to chat about this topic now & then. Some of us get a chuckle out of messing with the scammers. And maybe some aren't as savvy as others in picking up the warning signs on CL and information on this forum might help them out.
As with anything else online, if it's not for you then keep scrolling.

So, while you're "messing with the scammers" for fun, the fraudulent post stays up until it robs someone like my folks (mom 83, step dad 92) who are not so savvy.

I prefer to use my knowledge for the common good and get these attempts at robbing our less fortunate taken down ASAP!

Which is all well and good. But we're generally not talking about the elderly like your parents when it comes these Craigslist discussions on this particular forum. And that's where your complaint was, that it was being discussed on this forum.
And who said that I didn't flag that post where I messed with the scammers? You assume. And you know what they say about that word. As a matter of fact, I did flag the CL ad as soon as I sent the scammer a bogus email. An inspection of the screenshot I posted of the ad clearly shows it as flagged. But I guess it's easier to jump on me without that pesky fact.
I guess now you can return to working for the "common good" and leave me out of it.

I'm just impressed that his 83 year old mom, and 92 year old dad are in the market for a tractor.

Me too. What I found interesting is that I could right click on the image and locate the actual selling dealer via google.

Reporting the Craigs List ad as fraud only suppresses it to your current internet credentials. Everyone else can still see it. It takes many people doing this and days and even weeks to get it actually removed. When I was looking for a tractor I found this out by looking on a tablet and a laptop at different times. Craigs List has more tractor scams vs legitimate deals. It's buyer beware.

I would seriously doubt that they truthfully are!
