Switch-Hitch

I've got the Kasco Switch Hitch for my EarthForce EF-500. I haven't used the three-point hitch capability yet, except to pick up my 6' Agric tiller with scarifiers to make sure it would handle it, but I've moved some very heavy trailers with a pintle hitch in the receiver tube. It seems like an excellent product so far.

Spence--could you please provide a little more detail on the Uni-Hitch, including $ and installation for the 33D, how you hook it to the bucket, and whatever else you have time for? It sure looks like a great addition to the 7309 FEL . . . Thanks!

I bought the Uni-Hitch right up front as part of the tractor deal. I knew I wanted to have a set of forks and I did not like the idea of having to remove and replace the 4 pins on the loader each time. The bucket needs to have the Quick Tach plates welded onto it. New Holland doesn't make a Quick Tach setup for the 7308 so I had to get the Kasco Uni-Hitch adapter to mount on my loader. New Holland does make a Quick Tach system for its 16LA and larger loaders so my dealer just got me a NH Quick Tach heavy duty 60" bucket made for the 16LA. It cost me $400 for the Uni-Hitch and another $50 to move up to the Quick Tach heavy duty bucket. The $50 for the bucket wasn't more because of the Quick Tach, it was more because it was heavy duty instead of the standard bucket that comes with the 7308 loader. The drawback of the bucket I got is that I lost about 5 degrees of rollback. You can buy the Quick Tach plates separately and weld them on yourself. I don't know how feasible that would be because you may have to remove the four existing pin mounts on your bucket. That is why I went with the system right from the start so I wouldn't have to purchase a new bucket and be stuck with a bucket I couldn't use. I have attached a picture of the Uni-Hitch mounted to my loader arms. You can see in the picture that this Uni-Hitch is made to fit a variety of loaders so there is quite a bit of slop. I later made some spacers out of rigid copper pipe and they seem to be holding up extremely well. I will also attach a photo of my Quick Tach bucket and my Quick Tach forks.

My pole is a Southwest that I have had for many years.

I bought it at Hodges Farm Equipment in Fenton, MI. They may be able to help you out with finding a heavy duty one for a good price.
