SxS - Polaris General vs Ranger vs Others

Last load of the day. I had an oak tree fall across the creek onto my land and this is the last of it.

My wife and I purchased a ranger 570 midsize last year to use around our farm. It is a good little machine that does just about anything I ask of it.

My reasoning for going to the 570 midsize is how narrow tracked it is. We have about 50 acres of wooded land along with pasture land. I am 50 inches wide and fit in places a full size wouldn't go.

I use mine as a basic carry all for firewood in the winter, chain saws and such, and just about anything else I can come up with.

In my experience bigger isn't always better.

We recently got a Honda Pioneer 700 for the same reason. It's small and nimble. We tested a JD 570 and hated the grabby belt drive CVT. The Pioneer 700 has an automotive style torque converter automatic which makes for smooth shifts and low speed operation. It's so useful that we have been kicking ourselves for not getting one long ago.

I DS a 2015 Ranger 570 midsize and it is awesome. I use it around the orchard to carry all kinds of stuff. My wife and I ride around and gaze in wide wonder at the trees and landscape. I also take the grandkids one by one around the farm, very special for them and me.

Specs show Polaris 500 and 570 at 58" wide. Full size 570 and the 900 is 60" wide.

I pick my New Polaris 900 up Saturday.....

Great choice Buckeyefarmer I think it will serve you well. One note always use low if going up hills helps protect the belt and I'm not a speed demon anyway
