If the "CAT" in CAT 5w40 stands for Caterpillar, then I suppose the local Caterpillar dealer would stock the oil? Where would I go to find Schaeffer's?

I was to lazy to type the whole name, you are correct the CAT oil is Caterpillar and is usually cheaper than the DelvacI at truck stops. The Schaeffer's I found at bobisthe oilguy.com. I went to the sales page and it listed all the info.

John, noticed in your earlier picture you're buying the Rotella by the gallon. Where are you finding 5w-30 by the gallon and at ~$3/qt? Can you get 10w-30 for the same?

I saw an article on the Bobistheoilguy website about a tour of Schaeffer mfg. with old canner and all, but I didn't spend much time snooping around. I didn't notice whether oil products were sold there or not, but it seems that is where dellman bought his Schaeffer's. So, I guess that is a good source. Thanks

When you go to the home page of bobistheoilguy.com on the left side of the page all the way down, the Schaeffer's reps are listed under Site Supporters, click on that. Some of mine came from Texarcana, AR from a Rep there, Tim Mills.

The Shell synthetic is 5w-40 @ $12.xx gallon and the Shell Rotella dino is 15w-40 @ ~$6.xx gallon, both at WalMart...
To tell ya the truth, I haven't seen any 5w-30 (diesel rated) ever... this Rotella T seems to have all bases covered and and after hearing what others pay for the different brands out there and then shipping charges on top of that (insane /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif)... Shell is an absolute steal.../w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Rotella T 5w40 is a great all year round diesel oil. Easy starts for the coldest part of the year and great protection in the hottest. At a little over 12 bucks a gallon, you can't go wrong. Where I live, 50% of all oils used is Rotella.

Using a gallon jug to top off the radiator is a a bit of a pain and can be messy as well. How do you handle using a gallon jug of oil to top off between changes? I've thought about buying oil by the gallon, but it seems I spend more time adding a half a quart to one vehicle or tractor more often than I spend changing oil.
