I put a few hours on the New T320 this weekend and it is as good plus a little bit. The roller suspension is awesome. I haven't tried my Bobcat cutter on it but the 180 Kicks ***** on it. You can tell the 320 has more hyd power and more pressure because it sounds like a turbine spinning and the displacement change is almost instant on spoolup, I'm gonna give the motor a little more displacement and increase the pressure relief because the 320 is 3650 psi vs 3200-3300 on the 330. I can't wait to see the DAH-150 on my ex :)

So how does the T320 compare to the S330 for hydraulic power? I know the specs but I'm wondering how it feels especially when you try out the bobcat mulcher. Thanks in advance!

I got the bobcat mulcher on the trailer w/ the S330 right now. I will be trying the Bobcat mulcher with the T320 tomorrow and will report after. With any carbide cutter you will find they will stall out allot faster than a shredder / Chipper (see DAF-180D) as you are smashing the material not cutting. I cleared three 1 acre lots on Friday with a fair amount of rock on them so my the end of the third lot the knives/cutters/teeth what ever you want to call them were getting fairly dull by the last lot and you can notice the difference between sharp and dull allot. I would say a very dull DAF-180D is still more productive than the carbide. Sorry to get so long winded, I will let you know the difference between the S330 and the T320 later tomorrow.

:D

Hey Mower. The 180D is our high flow skid steer head. 73" wide cut, needs 30 gpm and up and atleast 3000psi. It is the head Westshore is running. With the success West is having it sounds like your releif valve is set to high. You can't have more theorectical hyd hp than engine hp without stalling the engine.

West shore I wish we lived closer together, I think we enjoy our toys too much. I'm glad your 180D is working so well and I'm sure your excavator head will rock.

Robbie, are you talking about the relief valve on the mower or the 320? When I demoed the Bobcat cutter, I could hear no releif valves deploying like I hear on the Cat. My FAE head releives when you turn on the high flow pump from a dead stop. The only way you can change the releif pressure on the FAE is to change to a weaker or stronger spring in the releif valve located in the Hydraulic motor's manofold.

You can also change the releif pressure on the Cat's Main pump. Mine is set to spec at 4200 PSI.

Either will do but the one on the tractor is best. Then set the one on the head abit higher. When you stall the rotor you should be relieving not stalling. Some heads don't even have releif valves. You not hearing it relieve is the problem. The cat psi sounds right.

Thanks, Guys for the input. After reading my G2 owners manual I found a chart listing the motor numbers for various flow rates. There is a break between 37 and 38 gpm flow rates with different moror numbers for each. I'm going to call the Loftness tech rep tommorrow and get to the bottom of this. One thing is for sure. The Cat machines have got to go. I'm not going through another summer w/o Air conditioning and having to put out fires on a weekly basis. Ain't going to happen. Robbie you should call me and set up a demo. Do you still have my #? If not, I'll PM you.

I am just now looking at skid steers and I wonder about your comment on fires. Do the CATs have a problem?

I think you need to google CAT and fire and see what comes up.

Without the debris kit on the new cats, there is the possibility of debris from mulching or tree shearing or working in around trees to be sucked into the motor compartment and settle on turbo, muffler, or motor due to the way the CATs pull air in. I think the problem is worse on the 90 hp machines with aftercooler.
With the debris kit, I don't think you have anything to worry about. My 272c's compartment stayed exceptionally clean with the debris kit installed.

Cool thanks - I am just starting my research.

so how was the comparison?

I finally had a chance to compare the S330 to the T320 side by side, the 320 seems to recover allot quicker but seems to drag down the tractors motor a little more. I suspect the 320 recovers faster because of the pressure. I forgot how much power the carbide cutters take to cut the first couple minutes of operating i felt like a beginner :) lol They both have their place I prefer the ride quality of the 330 with the VTS tracks vs the 320 with the roller suspension. That said i would still take the 320 over the 330 as the 320 has a bigger fuel tank and the undercarriage is more robust, more room in the chassis due to no chains etc.

Best combo T320 w/ roller susp and DAF-180D = $$$$$$$$ Faster by at least double.

I'm looking into possible hopping up the S330's hyd's to hopefully provide 40+ gpm then the 320.
