I finally had a chance to compare the S330 to the T320 side by side, the 320 seems to recover allot quicker but seems to drag down the tractors motor a little more. I suspect the 320 recovers faster because of the pressure. I forgot how much power the carbide cutters take to cut the first couple minutes of operating i felt like a beginner :) lol They both have their place I prefer the ride quality of the 330 with the VTS tracks vs the 320 with the roller suspension. That said i would still take the 320 over the 330 as the 320 has a bigger fuel tank and the undercarriage is more robust, more room in the chassis due to no chains etc.

Best combo T320 w/ roller susp and DAF-180D = $$$$$$$$ Faster by at least double.

I'm looking into possible hopping up the S330's hyd's to hopefully provide 40+ gpm then the 320.

Good report..

I am hoping to turn the pressure up on the s330. I'm still waiting to find out of the pumps are the same. I need the s330 to perform well so I can make up for the last 3 weeks of being out of work (for the most part).

How would you increase the gpm on the s330?
I got to drive a t320. It was such a rough ride that I nixed the idea immediately considering I work in rough terrain most of the idea. I really need Bobcat to come out with a machine that is in the 8500lb class with about 4000 psi and at least 37 gpm and I would be happy. I wish I could turn up the power on the s330 and get the 92 horses but I don't know if that is possible. I really can't understand why Bobcat won't provide the s330 with the extra hp?? CAT does it with it's 272 and 292. Same machines but one is track etc.

I am not much of a mechanic. More of good operator.. :) If I knew how I could squeeze a litte more power out of the hydraulics and the motor I'd be pretty happy. :D

Turning up the hydraulics means turning up the max rpm on the machine a little, on the top of the pump is the high idle screw it is covered with a tamper proof collar. By removing the collar's you void your warranty though. On the side of the pump the left side is the rack stop of fuel screw on the top and below that is the fueling screw it controls the amount of fuel given before the engine is making boost , like a responsiveness adjustment, more fuel the faster it makes rpm but it'll smoke a little when you step on it (if you have the SJC controlls) I would suggest trying a T320 with the suspension it is amazing compared to before.. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I will be taking delivery of only an s330. I didn't want the T320 with hand/foot controls after learning how to use joysticks and ordering one put me out of budget and overweight on my trailer. I guess after 11+ years of rowing, I enjoyed the hand controls a little too much in the CAT.
Also, I will be stripping weight off the S330 which I couldn't do with the t320.

Just be careful when you loose weight on the 330, they get a little tippy with a cutter on them. Hope you like the 330 I loved mine till I got the 320, its still a great machine.

Is the 320 that much more powerful?
I was fine with the mulcher on the s300 and I stripped it too. I am probably going to go as far as remove the s330 bobtach, replace it with one for an s300, and then run the 12-16.5 hulks. Anything to save on weight and avoid maxing out my truck anymore. I think I will have a good power to weight ratio and a capable machine. I fear that it won't grind as good as the CAT 272c did with the piston pump but I don't grind full time anymore. I just need to have it capable for about 40% of my jobs. Thanks for your insight on these two machines...

I didn't know there was a difference in the Bobtach between the 300 and the 330. You mean you are going to remove the power Bobtach and go with the standard Tach ? I don't think the power tach adds that much weight, maybe 50# at the most. The counterweights on the 330 weigh a ton though.

Evidently the rollback is different on the 330. I was told that because of the bigger tires, there was a slight angle difference on the Bobtach for the s330 to accomodate the larger tires. I will have them double check but evidently the part numbers were different but I will recheck. I was told at the dealer that if we remove the larger tires, put on the s300 bobtach (keeping the power wedges) then I would virtually have the s300 with an 85 hp motor..

I was told that each axle has 50lbs of weight plus the rear door weight. I have always removed my s300 rear door weights and never missed them.
