No top link is a serious situation ...

You bet it is...that really lowers the center of gravity!

One thing I noticed in some of the pictures is what I think are the loader hoses coiled up above the right mast. Is that what they are?

Roy,
I remember a thread teg posted about his new bucket thumb and he put hoses from the grapple to the spools.
But I would be curious about the lack of quick connects...

What say ye, man of painted feet... Err I mean teg...

How so??? I got this idea from several people on TBN...

I once used a chain as a top link thinking I had some room for fexibility ... well when that cutter went to kiss the back of my head ... I thru that chain in the scrap pile and always use a toplink. It sets the cutter height and keeps that sucker from coming up ... with out it it can roll right up your back side.

Teg - notice the cover over the grapple cylinder is missing.... what happened.?
I could not see a reason for it and thought it would be lighter, beside I don't foresee needing it... more "lighter" use vs. extreme use.

I've taken several covers off the tractor... easy access to stuff.

The hoses are for a grapple... the "thinking" behind it was the fact that I've only had the loader off one other time... I don't think the loader will be taken off too much so I don't thing the cost of extra disconnects will be justified...

...without it it can roll right up your backside.
I guess I don't use it to extreme... I just cut grass with it. The fact that I've about turned my Quick Hitch into a pretzel is another story.

Understood ... I was backing into some brush a hidden object apparently hit the stump jumper and before I new it ... well it was up again the back of the tractor with a destroyed PTO shaft. Lets just say I won't do that agian.... Top link is always in place.

My KK rotary cutter came with a knee-action "pivot" affair to attach to my top-link. It allows the cutter to lift up about 10"+ to clear obstacles.....but limits the cutter from lifting too high. You can pick up the cutter...just like with a top-link.

I would think you could buy one of these brackets from KK.....and it may provide some solutions for others. I sure like mine....so I thought I would post this.

I wish I had a better pic.....also, it would be easy to make one of these.

Exactly ... you have some flexability with that pivot and it will keep that sucker from rattling your cage!! As someone once said ... only two people know how that incident affected me!!!
