A question about using the threads.....When our discussions in one thread begin to transition to other subjects is it appropriate to shift to a new thread for it or just stay in the immediate thread and let the discussions lead however people want?

Thanks again, David

David, the phenomenon of "thread creep" is very common. For example, this thread could easily change to discussion of misdirected threads or dealers in the NW U.S.. It happens. I don't think anyone can control it, but rather it is left up to the idividual to decide and post a new thread relating to a different subject. I can tell you from experience that the longer a thread gets, the more likely it is that you need to read the first few posts to see what it was really about. Sometimes just having a very descriptive title helps keep things on track.

...now I'll return this to the discussion of your new partnership purchase.

Shoot.....I'd better drop the deal. We only got 1 calendar, but did get a CD "Down on the Farm" by Michael Peterson w/ a picture of a TC40D on the cover;) and two hats too.

Anchors Away :D :D

I wouldn't trade those days for anything. Still run into shipmates everywhere.

So Jim.....How am I doing so far? We could split this about four ways and still have fun. I'm not too worried about it though. Like I said earlier, this is my "virgin" thread and am having fun with my NEW FRIENDS :D .

I'm still learning how to use quotes and will play with inserting photos as soon as I get some to show off the new toy. I'm thinking of all sorts of things I could do with our acquisition.

Maddog,

Another welcome aboard to TBN. It's the best thing a tractor owner/enthusiasts could ever do! I have a TC55DA with a Woods BH-90X that I purchased for it last August. So far I love them both!! I had tried the 80X first and was disappointed so they traded me up to the 90X. Mucho difference!!! Keep in touch with me and maybe we can communicate on our performance on the backhoes. I can tell you that I busted 2 hoses within a couple hours of each other on it and then i haven't had it happen again. I think the pressure valve stuck or something that day......a freaky thing I hope. But I just love it so far.....It's dang sure a pretty thing too, that new design I can't help but just stare at it all the time... :)

CJ4,

Thanks. When the dealer demoed the tractor it had a Woods 9000 BH on it and it was very impressive. We initially thought we'd save about $1000 by ordering the 80-X, but when we finally saw one next to the 90 it was an easy decision to pony up the bucks for the 90. NO QUESTION!! The 80 looked down right puny next to the 90. I wouldn't have expected 1 foot to make such a difference.

I agree the new design of these X series Woods BH falls right inline with the NHTCs and their FEL curved appearance. OBTW there's actually a physical advantage to the new design besides the enhanced appearance too. The other thing I liked was the availability of a thumb (mech or hyd) with the X series. Like many properties out West, we grow rocks almost as fast as weeds, especially when it's a full moon. The hyd thumb will be invaluable at picking them out of way when trenching and save countless time in the process.

I'm dreaming of trying to fix some drainage problems all over my "lower 40". Anyone need some holes dug?? :D :D

Anchors Aweigh? Coming from an airdale, that's funny. We old retired blackshoe sailors really know what anchors aweigh is.:D

Yep, there are lots of ex-navy and a couple of active duty sailors here. It seems like a long time ago when I was in the US Navy, but the memories are still very fresh. When I see the new "luxury" ships they are turning out these days, I just shake my head. There's no doubt that today's Navy is better though. That's progress.

When you get around to posting pictures, we'll be happy to help. Preparation of the photo by sizing it and reducing its size will make it easier to view for everyone, even with low bandwidth connections. If you need help with that, we can give you some tips there too.:)
