TBN POPUP

THAT TBN POPUP IS VERY ANNOYING....ANY WAY TO ELIMINATE IT????.....

When you come to TBN a window pops up. I forget what it says, but I think it is an offer to join TBN. I don't see it at home, because I never log out here. I always log out when I am somewhere other than home.

RE pop ups:

I updated windows with all the new stuff and then I started getting the pop ups and many other weird effects.

Spent all day yesterday getting it all straightened out but not having much knowledge that may be a optimistic observation.

This is the way it works on my computer...

As long as you're signed in, you shouldn't get the pop up.
If you've recently deleted your cookies or your history, you're not signed in anymore, and the pop up comes up every time you open TBN.

AndyM is right, it has to do with the missing TBN cookie on the machine you are using. If you are on a strange machine the security may be set to the highest option (in Windows Settings somewhere) which won't allow TBN to place a cookie on the machine. You probably can't log in to TBN as a registered user either. Find the settings, lower the security to "medium high or medium" and you should be OK.

Think mine happened with increased security and no cookies. Changed that yesterday and all is well. No milk though.

The pop up is served once to unregistered users (or those not logged in) to let them know that they can register and post.

If you use the "Keep me logged in" option, you shouldn't ever see it (as I don't). /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I see it sometimes when my cookie mysteriouly disappears. I always click the "Keep Me Logged In" option. Sometimes, though, I get logged out for no apparent reason, and I haven't changed my cookie settings in a VERY long time. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My favorite popups are the ones with the frosting and strawberry filling. I most certainly prefer pop ups over a stale "cookie" any day!! Actually, not being very computer literate allows me to throw old cookies in the garbage can on a regular basis. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
