The majority of my work is done at 2000 RPM but these engines were made to hum at 2600 RPM all day and without problems. Don't know how much dirt I moved in the past two days but it was wet from all the rain that we've seen and it was all I could do to lift each bucket. The 17LA loader is rated at 2000 pounds and I made 87 trips to the dirt pile. Do the math 174,000 pounds. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thank goodness I was only moving it to my next door neighbors.

( chrisswell, I grew up there in wpa in beaver county. I still go back quite often in the summer and fish the neshannock. quite enjoyable. . . )

I used to fish the Neshannock myself. Haven't been there in years, though. And my youngest son just bought his first home in Economy Boro, Beaver County. What a small world we live in!

Thanks for the advice on the SS.

BTW, I assume there's an extended warranty you can buy. Does anyone have a view on whether or not it's worth doing?
I haven't been asked yet, but I assume I'll get the arm twisting before long from the salesman.

As a rule, I don't buy them - except on new vehicles. I didn't even hesitate with my Duramax. Didn't want to risk huge diesel repair bills later.

Is it worth buying an extended warranty for these tractors? Any idea how much they run?

Thanks again.

Andy, I got a quote from CNH for an extended warranty on a used TN70A for $800 for one year and $1500 for two years. Rickb and a NH mechanic I spoke to say they don't think the extended warranties are worth the money.

What do you think?

Thanks for the insider insight, Bob. I really don't have any experience upon which to comment, though, on whether it's worth it, or not.
