TC\'s and fan blades
Your service manager is 1/2 right. There is an issue of fan blades hitting the shroud, but it has nothing to do with cardboard. I believe the rad mount tabs on the front frames are not located quite right, causing interference between the fan and right side of the shroud. This info is filtering UP to NH from the dealer level now, and a fix has yet to filter back DOWN. I have made repairs to 4 units, and other guys in our shop have adjusted a couple others. All owners of class II and III NH compacts should check the clearance between the fan & shroud. This interference has NOT caused any catastrophic fan or radiator damage as far as I know, but needs to be addressed if necessary.
