TC55DA vibration on paved road. what is it?

My TC45D does it too and it is from the tires. It varies with inflation pressure and the first time I noticed one side of the tire was running in loose gravel on the side of the road. Roto's vibration may not be tires, but mine is.

I think it's the R4's. would be nice to see if someone else that is running these kind of tractors with turf tires or ag tires having the same problems?

I think this same symptom in a car or truck means the tires are not balanced. It creates a slow, rythmic vibration that comes and goes. If that's the case it should be common on a tractor.

On my TC18 the tractor would vibrate with the R4s at it's road speed (10MPH). With Turfs, smooth as silk. R4s were loaded, turfs empty. My B3030 is smooth at higher speed 12? (loaded turfs).

When i am in hi gear going 18 mph on paved road i have a vibration on steering wheel. 2300 rpms with R4 tires in 2wd. This is what it does......It vibrates for about 4 seconds then fades to smooth for 3 seconds and fades back into a vibration for 4 seconds and then fades back to smooth for 3 seconds. I feel it on the wheel but not really on fenders or anything else i can grab. Its not engine nor tires. It has something to do with drive shaft, transfer, u-joints, front gears or something to that effect i believe. The only thing i can think of is on 4wd vehicles the gear ratios are out of sync so they dont lock up and one is a little different then the other from front to back. This may be the case also with a tractor but i was in 2wd but im not sure if things still turn in front end to cause this or not. Its not tire rotation or engine for sure. help!

My TC48DA (2wd) does the same thing. My tires are R1's and there loaded. When I'm on the road, I dont get above 2000 rpm's. My dealer memtioned the vibration when I purchased my tractor from him. He also said the vibration would change as the tires and liquid heat up as I drive down the road. He said dont get above 2000 rpm's and I'll be fine.

i dont have loaded tires and it vibrates even at slower speeds but not as bad but the same vibration. I still think drivetrain and not the tires.

Resonance is an amazing thing. When the knobs on the front and the back tires start hitting the ground together, you'll get a rattle. When the hit opposite, the rattles will cancel each other out, and the ride will smooth out.

This may not be the exact cause, but it is likely something like it.

What you are experiencing is called "sympathetic vibration" My TN65D does this on and off at highway speeds. It is everything combined! The tires, transmission, engine and tractor. Everything that moves and flexes has a "critical speed or point of maximum vibration". At higher speeds your tractor goes in and out of this situation and its not unusual or unique. Ken

sympathetic vibration!!! Thats what it is. I should have known. I agree it could be something like that however my TC33d doesnt vibrate at all and my other tractor at 20mph is smooth as silk so i guess only on some tractors.

My 55 does the same thing. When it starts to vibrate, I just back off of the throttle a little, and it stops. I have loaded R4's, btw.

It did do it worse with a round bale on the front and nothing on the rear.
