Ohmagod...I don't wanna talk about ANYTHING burnin' around here!! I was burning some cardboard last week and set the field full of wheat stubble on fire...something like 600 acres worth of fuel out there.I only burned a circle about 50 feet in diameter but it scared the daylights outta me.The neighbor said" At least you didn't have to call in the fire dept. like Tami did."Hmmm....oddly she never told me that story...I usually don't bother with her past before we were married but I had a lot of fun with that one.We are gonna move the burn pit...didn't get too much of an arguement since I now have a lil'leverage....

bob: be carefull and NEVER get inunder the stuck silage. it is a very bad day for the fire men when they have to dig through all the old rotting stuff to find you and take you to the morgue!

Oh yes...that thought has crossed my mind.I won't even stick my good tools in there for fear that they will be lost.I'm pretty sure that I will just be going for the manure down the road and let someone else deal with this one.Bob

Why??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Everything around it burned already, right? Sounds like you already have the new burn pit already there! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Bob,

Please keep us informed. I also have one of those darn things in my yard. It would be worth the drive to come up and watch if not intruding.
Mine is empty though. I miss out on all the good stuff!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had a couple taken down, not a problem, 2 ways to do it. One guy took a sledge, knocked out every other block in the direction he wanted it to fall, only half of the silo though. Then strung a heavy steel cable, hooked to a 100 hp tractor, thru the dia of the silo and started to pull. By pulling he popped out the remaining blocks, the silo laid down with a crash,,,,,,,, make sure you use plenty of cable though, If this makes you nervous, maybe you could get that ex to drive the tractor.

Later, I'll post a better way to do it.

We attached a cable at the top, caught a couple of hoops.
