Telescoping Lower Links vs Pat's Easy Change

Trillium Farm when you say claws are you referring to a hook type connection like Pat's? Are they telescoping?

Yes Ridge Killer indeed and they are telescopic

As a general question, does anyone know why we are not getting the hook/claw as a standard equipment in our tractors?

I have a feeling it's mainly cost and confusion.
Years ago they were an option on some tractors,
I know they were available on the Oliver "00" "50" and "55" series tractors.
They were available on others also but all slightly different sizes so interchangeability was a problem.
Then the quick hitch as used now started coming out.
Also some of them would unlatch to easily and others you needed a hammer to unlatch after a few hours.
I believe that they may be making a comeback again nowdays.

They are made to push against the implement for alignment meaning the tractor doesn't have to be perfectly square to the implement when connecting....get the top of the first to contact against that pin and slowly push on the implement (with tractor power) till the other side lines up and lift....connect your top link and away you go.

Texasmark I assume when you stated the above you were talking about pushing with Pat's rather than telescoping. Just want to confirm since it seems like it would make it much easier.

Just spoke with someone at Greenwell that makes Pat's. They confirmed that you can push implement with "bumper" to line up if not square as Texasmark stated. Actually shows on their diagram that the back side (tractor side) of the hook that goes up high behind the front side is called a bumper. This is a bit of a game changer since the most difficult part of hooking an implement typically is when it is not square to the lift arms.

Spoke with my Kioti dealer. Good news is that they confirmed that the stabilizers that come with telescoping lift arms are the extendable pin style. Less favorable news is that they cannot order parts that are sold in other countries and do not have euro style ends available. Had to explain what the euro style is.

Cost factors:
Pat's $165 with stabilizer bar at Rural King with free shipping. Main disadvantage to me is extra 4" added.
Kioti telescoping lift with extendable stabilizers $395. Like the idea of these stabilizers and no extra length but not sure if willing to pay the extra $230.

3 of the reasons I bought my first Branson in 2007: Telescoping lift arm tips, telescoping lift arm stabilizers, and a lift control lever at the rear right where you are when you hook up.

I have Pat's on the 3000 and use the Cat II lift arms and adapter. They do extend the load another few inches making for more load to lift. The adjustable link connection between the lift arms (part of the regular price of the kit) is a must for non locking lift arms like the Fords with their floppy chains.....to get the hooks spaced for the width of the pins on the implement to be connected.

They are made to push against the implement for alignment meaning the tractor doesn't have to be perfectly square to the implement when connecting....get the top of the first to contact against that pin and slowly push on the implement (with tractor power) till the other side lines up and lift....connect your top link and away you go.

If you are using a rotary mower or something connecting the ground intermittently, ensuring that the lock nuts on the adapter bolts are secure is a must. If ALL your implements are setup on the standard dimensions then the $99 HF 3 pt would be a great idea.....problem for me is that they aren't...doubt that any 2 are the same.

I have the $99 HF 3 point. Admittedly I have a SCUT not a "big" tractor. The tiller and bush hog are "new" (built in 2014 or after) and conform to the standard.

The back blade is OLD. Not sure how old. I got it free from a friend who got a bigger one. It has seen a lot of weather and is rusty. He had it for at lest 15 years and got it used.

It conforms to the standard.

Of course just better to get what works well for you and do it to it.

One thing is for sure the "standard" equipment on tractors with out the hook kinds of ends is just a poor design. With my back problems there is no way I could change implements very frequently.

I'm sure that the Kioti dealer could order the euro telescopic arms w/stabilizer from Kioti in Korea, he just doesn't want to be bothered.
As far as cost they ought to be the same as the regular arms.

I can assure you that the Euro ends are available in the states. Kioti dealer in Nevada has provided them and I have seen them in person on a Kioti tractor at a farm show in California. But if you think that any of this stuff is going to compare with Pat's cost wise, forget about it.

But it will be worth the extra money over the Pat's ones.

I am sure you know since you actually sell weld on hooks.

If you keep the tractor for 10 years, it's chump change and well worth it. If you sell the tractor, you should get better resale too.
