Sam, you are making amazing progress on a huge job. It is looking really good.

I can't offer you any info on how much burying our house cost, it wasn't split out. Many trucks full of concrete and many full of dirt is certainly familiar. I like your approach on waterproofing the roof--sounds like you're doing everything that makes sense.

It's been low to mid 90's here in Maine this past week, hot (for here) and humid. Indoors we're running 76 degrees (windows closed during the day).

The economy and all that jazz is pretty scary. All we can do is be as ready as we can; hopefully things will not have any major upset. It's going to be a long haul to dig ourselves out though.

I like the way your home is staying cool. Are your running any AC? HR1489 Glass-Steagall Reintroduced will can all the criminal bailouts and possibly save the world economy if made into law very soon. As for the 2012 event which looks like may occur in September this year, brace yourself and prepare for the worst. I hope the earth changes and pole shift spare many lives.

Hello Sam, ND, carpolisher, and all TD guys,
I finally had a chance to catch up on TBN. Sam, I love those doors! Sorry everyone is having a such a hot summer.

We love our doors as well. These are solid pine made in Texas for $110 each. This is the 36" wide. As for the heat, we may end up in the cold zones after the pole shift.

No AC here, just the temp the house runs at.
Glass-Steagall would be really fine to have back.

Pole shift????? :confused2:

Down load a program called earthquake 3d and run daily to see what the USGS reports. This doen't cover the complete world but most of it and many times for political reasons the USGS will down play the recorded measurements to prevent the public from becoming too alarmed. You will clearly see we are headed to the grand finale of a 3600 year pole shift. An Extinction Level Event (ELE). The media is currently in a basic black out state. Little is being reported or given any validity. There are many misinformation campaigns ongoing but the truth is out there on the web. Our main reason to build this home is to prepare for the worst. I wish I could believe things are going to be ok but gifts do come with these type things. You can't have the light without the dark, good without the bad and life without death.

Hello Sam, ND, carpolisher, and all TD guys,
I finally had a chance to catch up on TBN. Sam, I love those doors! Sorry everyone is having a such a hot summer. I checked up on the cost of that "crystalline" concrete additive for water proofing. I include my findings.
Seems like it would raise the cost of concrete @ $90 a cubic yard a bit (30%). I'll let you all do the math. The savings would be in the labor and freedom of mind that is it self healing for the most part. Just add the bentonite and foam and fill. That's it! I realize most of you all are past this part, but if you develop cracks or leaks and have to redo, they also have plug seal and you can treat from the inside. I just like this stuff.

The Kryton product sells for $3.00/lb FOB MPLS or St. Louis. 11 lbs./cy of concrete is a typical dosage rate. It would work very well for your intended application. It comes packaged in 22 lb. bags.

We added Penetron which is another brand name of the same stuff to the concrete in the top half of the dome, the parapet and the retaining walls. It was purchased through Jay Scafe at Terra Dome to get a better price. It is costing us only $25 per cubic yard for a total of $2253 on 4 modules. That's a lot cheaper than you were quoted!

Regarding "Pole Shift," assuming this does come to pass with all its predicted dire consequences; my feeling about this is the same as all out nuclear war...point me towards Ground Zero as I have no desire to be a survivor rebuilding the human race.

I won't digress much more as I find this thread on building alternative housing quite interesting; but PS sounds like astrology combined with doom & gloom rapture preachers, pseudo-science and conspiracy theorists to me.

Each to their own and I respect and defend your right to your opinion, even if I completely disagree with it.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled thread.
