You know some of the moderators, including myself, have had posts removed, and they should have been. But I don't understand why anyone would get upset if they have something removed. Is what they posted that important? I never figured anything I posted on TBN was important enough for me to get upset if it were removed. And no, I was not the moderator who removed Lou's post, but I do agree with its removal. And anyone who thinks a moderator has done something he shouldn't have done should send a private message to Muhammad, who can and has overruled moderators if he agrees.
Why isnt the picture removed and reasons not posted for public view in same texted picture was in,by the moderator responsible for removing it? I didnt agree with the removel, what i miss?
Western I think if only one or two people complain about a post they should be made,to put him/her on there ignore list, not delete it if not bothering the other 99.9%

Thank you Bird. That's a fair and reasonable perspective.

If post removals appear to be arbitrary--I don't know that Lou's was or was not--there is a conversation chilling Big Brother aspect involved, sort of like running into an invisible electric fence, that I hope the moderators try to avoid. I'm sure it isn't always easy to make those judgment calls. And as you pointed out, there are established review procedures.

Of course, tractorbynet is an individually owned website, and it's also always been a "family friendly" website. So the owner has a right to decide what is or is not appropriate on his property, just as each of us have a right to decide what is appropriate in our homes, or elsewhere on our property. And just as you may have someone help you enforce rules on your property, a website owner can select people (moderators) to help him. Incidentally, if anyone didn't already know it, the moderators are volunteers who were asked to assist; not employees, and naturally serve at the pleasure of the owner. Rules are established, procedures are established, etc., but that doesn't mean everyone always agrees. Anyone who has ever been in a courtroom has seen that not everyone agrees with all laws, nor do they always agree on what does or does not constitute a violation of a particular law. And not all laws are uniformly enforced by all law enforcement officers in all cases, and as long as we're human instead of robots, such will exist. We frequently cannot even get 9 Supreme Court Justices to agree.

Did you ever tell a friend he cannot smoke in your house? Or use certain language? Or do anything else? You probably expect him/her to comply, but that doesn't mean that person is no longer a friend or no longer welcome on your property.

However, if he takes offense and decides to leave and not come back, what should you do?

Sensible and well said clarification Bird.

When a post of mine was deleted, I too, couldn't understand who I offended and never would have known unless Mohammad had not sent me the PM. I personally didn't think what I said even came close to other comments I have seen, but obviously upset someone (which wasn't the intent of my post). There is such a diversity of folks on TBN, I figure everyone will eventually offend someone:laughing:

Coincidentally, I just had a post removed from a thread. I said I agreed with the previous poster and then explained why I thought he was right. Trying to figure out how that was offensive.

But then you had to get out of the warm vehicle when they hit something. Then you had to dodge the other idiots from other parts of the country that said "I know how to drive on snow" and were spinning out. I would politely explained that in Texas it's called ice :duh: and obviously they couldn't drive on it. :D

After spending two weeks in Fairbanks in December, I came home Christmas Eve. My ex picked me up at the airport. When my ex came up to a stop sign too fast and stopped.....I stiffened into the brace position ready for us to slide through the intersection and crash..............but that didn't happen. I was already acclimated to creeping up to the stop sign, after driving that plow truck up north!
hugs, Brandi

So far, the sleet/snow/freezing rain storm has been less than expected. We were planning on staying inside all day long. However, everything has melted off, so my wife ran to Walmart to pick up a few last minute items we've discovered we needed before Thanksgiving.

EDIT:
Don, when we were down putting the rock on your bridge, Karen made some vegetarian chili that was really good. Of course, it was different from the chili I am used to, but still I'd never turn down a bowl of her delicious chili. When you cook cornbread or other breads, what is your substitute for eggs? Is there an egg substitute product like there is salt substitute? How about Silk milk substitute? Does it work well instead of whole milk when cooking/baking?

It's staying dry around here so far. We've just stayed in today, and plan to do the same tomorrow, so hope others don't have a tough commute in the morning.

No milk or milk substitute is used. Water is substituted.
For eggs, one egg = 1 TBS ground flaxseed soaked in 3TBS water.
Applesauce is substituted for oil/butter.

35˚ and light rain 1/3" today.

I have had several private messages send to me about the post that was deleted and I thank you for your support.. but I felt there was only two people that had a right to censor that post.. That was the one I send it to.. Brandi or myself.. Hers if she was offensive and if she complained,, I would understand and apologize in a second,, mine if someone felt it was offensive.. I would have deleted it and told Brandi why..
But I will not look over my shoulder and wondering if I said or posted something that would be offensive that can be deleted because someone feels they have the right to decide what is proper or not,, based on whatever they feel at the time. If I had posted a hog,, gutted with a stake thru it head coming out it azz on a pit.. Would that had been okay?.. Sure,,, good old boy roasting a pig.. One of GOD creatures.. But if it's a drawing of a cartoon alien on a stick being roasted,, heff is a crime again what?.. Cartoon characters have more rights than God creatures.. That's what pizzed me out.. I can get paid to come to private channels and write this kind of stuff.. Makes people smile and forget about their health problem for a while,, and I do,, But I did it here because country people make me smile,, we say what we think and feel.. It's good to be country.. Maybe we need country people to monitor country people.. with a sense of humor.. That's all we got when walking back to the barn when the tractor in the field.. I'm sure this will be deleted cause I didn't get someone permission to post.. Lou

Medium rain right now, weather says it's light snow, but it is 34.1* here right now. If the temp drop, there will be ice I imagine.

Canned or fast food chili?!?! :yuck: That's an outrage! :censored: Gotta be homemade!

Amen FG. I make a really big batch when I cook Chili and then freeze a couple of Quarts for when I need some in a hurry.

Ron; The trick is to make more than you need, then freeze some of it. That way, you have it in the RV along the way. I put mine in single serving containers. If there is any left in the freezer at the end of winter, it is always good to make chili dogs with in the Spring and Summer!
We do have in frozen containers. That was the last one. Since my wife heritage is Italian. Spaghetti won out over chili in our RV freezer.
One of my favorite quick meals is a Coney Island Hot Dog. Have not found a good place to get them in South TX.

The grocerys here do have "Hebrew National" that you can use in a pinch.

People say those are good hot dogs, I've never cared for them.

If I were headed to Texas, I'd look for those Texas towns with strong German heritage and get some decent brats for the grill.

They are all over the place in south Texas. However they have morphed bit and have a different name - Tacos

Even being vegan, neither would be offensive to me. I would just find something else to eat………. ???? Lou we were all blindsided by that censor but that's what to expect sometimes on a world wide open forum that is transmitted to outer space satellites and can be picked up by _______??????

Hang in there.
