Had a group of 11 vegetarians join us for dinner on this rainy evening. Their food was easy to prepare.

It is the beginning cause of veganism. After a few batches all the beans take over and then there is no meat.:D

Just ask Lou, didn't he have a vegan morsel on the pit yesterday.

Lou,

I'm glad your going to stick around. If you leave I won't have anybody to drink with when the rest of them are working. Freedom is good, and here in Texas we're kind of partial to it.

I was looking to replace or brighten the avatar and I found a couple of pics for the Girls.

Not my favorite plane. Who are those guys:confused3: and why are they blocking the view of the airplane?

Oh, and crackers with my chili, or fritos for frito pie. I'm on the fence about beans, like chili with them or without.

Prefer cornbread for red beans and rice. I'm with Brandi and the rest on that.

Kyle,
If you are out of crackers or cornbread, rice tastes good in chili. I've been known to have it this way.:licking: Ketchup is always a condiment in my chili.

Who says beans in chili isn't Texas chili? Is it Tex Mex?:confused3:

Wolf Brand even has a 'lean' recipe chili.

They make chili with or without beans but they export most of the 'w/beans' up north where folks don't know good chili doesn't have beans.

Had a buddy who moved out to California. Anyone who went to visit him was required to bring a case of wolf brand chili.

Had tried the lean, good but pricey. The turkey ain't half bad, but does taste different.

Brandi, the only time I use Ketchup is when someone forgot to salt the french fries or if I remember to get some Whataburger Spicy Ketchup.

One time, my aunt and uncle came down from Wyoming to visit us here in Texas. I lit up the pit and smoked some speckled trout with lemon/butter/paprika (Cause they don't like cayenne), and they put ketchup all over it before they even tasted it. I was really let down at the time but I figured they were used to eating whatever trout they catch in the creeks in Wyoming, which sometimes taste gamey. Fast forward, they ended up retiring down here and my uncle got into salt water bay fishing twice a week. They learned that they didn't have to put ketchup on any of the popular bay fish.

PS. Why would anybody spell Ketchup Catsup?

I like beans in my chili.
Also like grits mixed with my fried eggs.
Like Lea & Perrins or nothing with steak. Nope, don't like A-1.
Like a coke to chase coffee with.

Look here people.. I don't like getting into anyone business.. but Chili can only be homemade with a fence jumping steer.. that you have gotten,, woke up in the middle of the night. Several times,, telling you,, you have a cow that's out in the street and you need to come and get it.. or a bull that has ran over you several times or butted you more than you liked.. while you were trying to help it.. remember the meaner the meat the sweeter the chili.. Nothing better than a heaping helping of homemade chili on a cold winter night,, knowing they taste better from the bowl.. no run overs and no call outs..(cc)Lou

I think a bottle of ketchup will last a year here, and need to have the last part thrown out! I use Tabasco on my fries, in my soup, gumbo, etc.

Yep, fence jumping steer or bull makes the best chili. And if it went over the fence TWICE, and came at you to head butt and stomp you, then an all day simmer in the pot makes it tender and sweet!

Yes, CVA-19.

Charlie

How long before she was scrapped?

I was with the A-7D a couple years, which was the AF version of the
F-8J. Talk about a vacuum cleaner prone to FOD.

They say, asking for Ketchup at a fine restaurant, is the chef's greatest insult.

Ron that is funny, but I have done that in 4 and 5 star "joints", they just bring it in a fancy bowl about a half of a teaspoon:laughing: Guess the small amount matches the small portions, but they arrange the plate all "purdy" for ya:D

Dennis,
I don't know; that's why I said: they say.
I don't read or understand French Cuisine menus so I'd fear what I might get.

I prefer "Cracker Barrel" home style cooking, these days, if I have to eat out.

My first choice is my wife's home cooking, but I have to take her out once in a while
to blow the stink off of her, particularly when she reminds me of some restaurant gift card
she has that is about to expire.
