I haven't checked the rain gauge yet this morning, and it is still raining very steady. By now the gauge has overflowed. I have a Farmlog app on my computer that gives me a rain total on my land and this morning it says from 5am yesterday till 7am this morning we've gotten 8.82 inches of rain.

When it gets a little lighter out I'll go out and check what the creeks look like.

Before we moved back to town, we lived in Navarro County, about 20 miles west of Corsicana and across the road from Navarro Mills Lake. The TV news this morning says Corsicana has gotten 18.07 inches of rain and Navarro Mills Lake is up 10.5 feet.

4" over night, that makes a total of 5" for us, and thankfully a lot of it has soaked in instead of just running off. I pray for those in areas of flooding.

Yessir, as of 6:30 a.m. today I was at 5.73", still getting a very light sprinkle, but more in the forecast.

I spoke to my brother this morning, we live on the same old home place, and we've had over 10 inches now. He's retired and emptied his rain gauge before it ran over. Pounds are fillling/filled up nicely. Creek will probably be over the road before the days over.

Congratulations on the excavator!!!! Last I remember you where leaning towards getting a bobcat. What made you decide on this one?

Eddie,
I was looking for an ex in the 14,000 to 16,000 pound range and under $20,000. I drove up near you to Wills Point to look at a Sumitomo s160. It needed more TLC and dollars than I wanted to give. Then a Case 9007 and didn't like it. Then drove over to Rustin La. to look at a Cat E70B that should be sold for salvage parts. This one was in Houston and clean and had nothing one person turning wrenches could not fix. She weighs 15,200 pounds and has a 6 foot ( 5'11") stick on her, which gets me down 13.5 feet and a reach of 20'5". Now I just need a Ford 800 with a Cummins and a dump bed!
Maybe next tax refund? I'm looking now. Been some nice RED ones going at RB Auctions.
hugs, Brandi

And the rain just keeps on coming. Total from Fri 5am till Sun 3am is 10.92, but maybe the huge downpours are done. I've seen this much rain here before, but, a couple of years ago they reworked the drainage on our FM road and so far that's seems to be what is keeping the water off of the roads. Sure hope it continues to work.

You're gettin' ahead of me, Charlie. We got a little more last night, but that just brings us up to 6.08".
