Rest in Peace
Had to turn the air-conditioner on in the pickup yesterday; first time in awhile.

Sweated while doing fence repair today...amazing!! If this keeps up, I'm gonna bet this will go down as the hottest winter in Central Texas....ever!
John I had a dead tree down on the fence that I fixed yesterday and started out needing a sweatshirt on, but came out of that pretty quick. With all the dead trees we have this battle may go on for ever.

I stoped at a church just south of Chandler TX on the way home last night to take a few pictures of their bell tower. It's right next to Lake *********, so I stuck around to see what the sun would do. Turned out to be a pretty good show and a great new place for me to try to be at in the evening when working in that area.

ended the day with a high of 82*!!!! I may have missed the "gardening" window:laughing:
NWS says it only got to 78 in Denton. But I've been working outside a good bit the last two days and having a bit of a problem with "hay fever?" or some allergy that I'm not accustomed to having; sneezing, blowing my nose, and itching eyes. I've even taken a couple of Benadryl capsules and used Visine in my eyes.
I don't think we are ready for the spring/summer thread yet. We have February yet to go. You just can't trust February in Texas.![]()
Bird, Pete Delcus said last night it was the Cedar pollen blowing up from Central Texas, said this is normal for this time of year but higher than normal. May be what is "agitating" you?
I tell her that Feburary is the month to be afraid of.
My intention was to buy a box of California navel oranges and then buy a box from Texas to make a comparison. However, there must have been a conspiracy to keep me from buying Texas fruit by sending me so many from California.:confused3:
Actually, several years ago, my wife and I were in California and bought some navel oranges right at the orange grove. They were so good, I decided to buy some from both CA and TX. I will still buy from the Texas growers, but not before Christmas. They'll still have plenty of oranges in the valley in January when I finally get rid of all the ones I have.
