Since you've got horses you should check out Madisonville area. Kinda the horse capital of this area. Straight up I-45 from H town.

That might be too far a drive. I'm trying not to go too much over an hour commute to Houston (north side)

Livingston is over an hour drive from parts of Houston. Which side, again, will you be on? The north side?

sseelhoff, Warton is SW of Houston, which roads were you going to take to get to work, the toll way? Warton to the Woodlands area - in non-traffic times is 1.5 hours.

Office is in Greens Point-I-45 and Sam Houston Tollway. I can take 59/69 to the Tollway or all the way to 45.

I drive the same distance almost daily traveling from home to San Antonio or Austin. Keep in mind I can work from home at least 2 days per week.

The reality is I'm going to have to live out a ways if I am going to find space for the horses and the Deere. At least Wharton is close to the Great Southwestern Equestrian Center, which is where most of the horse shows are.

Had cow have twins today lost one to da** black headed buzzards. I hate these aggressive black birds, at least are typical buzzards usually wait until something has past already...

That is why they make 22CB's which are subsonic 22's. You can keep your distance so as to not scare them off and you can keep shooting them.
If you want a larger caliber, my personal favorite is the 300 blackout in a subsonic load with a suppressor.

I lost a five day old calf to the neighbors pittbull ... he won't do that again!!

One cow had twins and thats rough on a cow. Pulls her down quick ... I weaned the smaller one as soon as I could that way I only have one dink instead of 2 !!!

Cow had little Jersey in it and her bag is huge I think she would have been fine with two. I tried taking few birds with my carry 9mm but I will throw the shotgun in truck for next time. As for the pitbull I would done the same,I'm sure I could hit it little better than those birds with my 9mm:laughing:

They are not our typical redheaded buzzards they are the black headed ones from Mexico(so I hear),that are way more aggressive. They will get the mother cows so stressed at birth trying to fight them off,they get down and those birds will get the eyes and tongue of the calf before even out. It's a on going deal with them,that is the #1 culprit of calfs loss around here.

Stinky birds. I'm having an ongoing war with a water turkey. I know I can't kill him, but I sure can scare it. Also, my woodpecker is back.

Yep, for some reason they (buzzards) are federally protected and have been for a long time. You can get a federal permit to eradicate them but, I understand not easy to acquire.
