I hope you Texas visitors have a good time and enjoy your stay, I don't know which one of you brought this rain, but "HAT'S OFF!" You probably have seen how bad this is needed and it sure is welcome.

Dennis, maybe it was the OU fans who brought it. They sure rained on UT's parade yesterday. Talk about a washout. . .

I'm not even a football fan, but since I wasn't doing anything else, I watched that game. At least I got a lot of good laughs out of it.

Exellent "pun" Jim!!:laughing::laughing:

I actually didn't know about (win/loss) the game until you posted that:D I guess going shopping with the BOSS, was actually more entertaining than I thought. Then it started to rain and I got giddy:laughing::D We made fresh coffee and just sat by the back window:)

It's official (went out to the gauge, double checked with my neighbor), 4+ inches so far and still drizzling:thumbsup:

Eddie, know what you mean! Hope you get some of this too, the best kind right now, medium drizzle.

I went out to get some photos, couldn't wait:laughing:

1. is the creek, you can see the dead underbrush on the banks, usually the last to go.

2. Looking over the spoils from my pond (cattails), note the dead and dieing trees and the cedars my wife planted 3 years ago.

3. My little high hill pond has over 4' of water, was so dry my Kioti could hardly dig in it.

The FW Zoo will be about 30% open I just learned (the indoor sections). If Zero Gravity does not open it will upset my son but not his dad as much. :) The daughter is kind of take it or leave it on free falling.

At 14 they like the thrill more than I like watching them do the Zero Gravity type thrills.

Having lived in Abilene when in college 30+ years ago and the lack of water I know how bad TX needs a lot of rain. I am going to replace the month old air filter after this 7500 mile trip is finished tomorrow. From NM to near Dallas the dust make it harder to see in some places where the fields had been worked.

Maybe a lot of areas will get enough to help save some of the plant life and help the live stock.

The attachment says it all.

Are you gonna drink it, or save it for antiquity?
Do you have a stick in your pond to see if you got 5" + ?" runoff total?

It's raining in Athens, heading Eddie's way. Not heavy but steady, I will take it.

0.74"? How many times did you have to empty that bottle cap :D

A bunch!:laughing: And when we got home about 3 p.m. today, there was another 0.53" in the gauge. That's a total of 1.27". After zero for July, 0.64" in August, and 0.95" in September, it's great.

Now as for that Texas-OU football game, if you've never seen the traffic on I-35 the next day after one of those games, you don't know what you've missed. We left this morning before 9:30 a.m. and went north to Lake Murray in Oklahoma, then back down to the Outlet Mall in Gainesville. I knew we had to go early or no way we were going north on I-35. Then about 1 p.m. we left the mall and come home south on I-35. The northbound traffic was bumper to bumper in both lanes, moving slowly and occasionally even stopping, and that was from just south of the Red River to Lake Lewisville, and I'm sure even further in both directions.

It's going to be well past dark-thirty before those folks get to Norman or Oklahoma City.

Been to 49er games at Candlestick in San Francisco, sold out concerts and A's games at Oakland Coliseum. Race day at Infineon/Sears Point. Been there, done that. I'm only 1.5 hours from Candlestick with light traffic. But with a sold out game, it is a LOT longer...

This has be heaven sent, we have got just over 5" so far:D More in the forecast. My little pond is up about 4', creek is running big time and the deer have been in the yard off and on since about 2:00:thumbsup:

Weatherman said this rain would stay west of I-35 corridor, but looks like Eddie and folks East of D/FW are going to get lucky too.

BTW, I keep a 5' kiddy pool in my dog pen so they can "swim" when it;s hot. 2 day's ago we emptied it and left it to dry, so we could clean it, it's full, but at a slight decline in elevation soooo. very thankful.
