No, Jim, I don't think any of Corinth's water comes from wells. It comes from Lake Lewisville via the Upper Trinity Regional Water District. As far as I know, it's all from their Lewisville Treatment Plant. In this hot weather, I guess we take more showers, do more laundry, and I've tried to water enough to keep the grass alive, but certainly not as much as it appears to need. However, according to the bill, we used 30,529 gallons. It's hard to believe we used an average of a thousand gallons a day, which is more than 5 times as much as we used in February or March.

But I don't think we have any leaks indoors or outdoors.

I guess being from a wet state, I can't even concieve of using that much water. I don't water my grass, my garden takes some, but not much. I doubt we use 200 gallons per day. Many older homes here are on 2 in wells. They don't get many gallons per minute.

We got .19" of rain, less then a 1/4 inch and I'm excited. Maybe I won't have to water today, but it will burn the moisture off quick.

The story:
My BIL came in for work in Texas this week, since we have only seen him 1 or 2 times in 10 years, my Wife goes on a "cleaning spree". Well, she puts 2 bags of trash out on the back deck that we haven't been using since it's so hot, never mind asking me to haul it off mind you. The next day (yesterday) she said "honey, something got into the trash", I pulled a blank, so she showed me. Yep piss3d me off in a couple of way's.
So being the great white hunter, I set a box trap to put an end to rape and pillage of our rouge trash bags. 1:30am I catch a small black cat, I mean little!! I have been catching some "wild" ones that would take your hand off, but not this guy, as soon as I approach the cage, .22 in hand, it starts purring and "crying" for lack of a better word.
I'm sitting there, knowing what I should do, obviously someone dumped this kitten, so I figured I'll let it out cause I can catch it again if it goes "crazy". After I let it out, it starts rubbing my legs and purring,geez. I've never seen a cat this skinny. So what does dumb me do?? a BOWL of milk and bowl of dog food!!!!

I just couldn't do it!! don't know why, I guess with the drought the animals are dealing with, along with some a-hole dumping this thing out in the "country" I just couldn't take advantage of the situation. I haven't told my wife yet, but she wont believe me, I usually deal swift with theses kind of things.

That's it! It's all over now. You might as well call up your vet and schedule a time to bring it in for shots and neutering. That way you can at least let it hang around and know there won't be more of them about. If the kitty is already used to humans and likes human contact, it could be a great yard pet, but you don't want it making more kitties.

Ron, the information in that link is basically right, but there's a little more to it than that. The City looks at our water usage for Nov., Dec., Jan., & Feb., throws out the highest one, averages the other 3, and that sets the sewage rate for the next 12 months, so on my bill, the only thing that varies each month is the water consumption. So this month it was:

Water = $163.48
Sewer = $ 43.54
Garbage = $ 9.92
Rate Cost = $ 0.00
Drainage Fee = $ 5.00
Garbage Sales Tax = $ .82

Total = $222.76

As I said, only that first number (Water) changes each month; the others are always the same. The sewer charge will change next March; may go up or down, depending on our water usage this Winter. And yes, we're on the senior rates.

I'm glad some of you got a few drops of rain. I was driving south on F.M. 2499 this morning from F.M. 2181 to Grapevine and 3 or 4 times saw lightning south of me, but didn't even hear any thunder, much less see any precipitation.

While on animals, I have a couple questions about scouting camera's.
I got a Red 6MP the other day and put it where I thought I would catch the deer goingn for the garden corn. Nothing the next morning, but they had been there and crunched a few ears the wife had thrown over in the grass.
So the next night I set it up by the back porch to run some tests.
My question concerns how far back from your deer feeder do you put your camera to get the best results?
I snuck around the corner about 50 feet from the camera where it should have sensed me according to the specs. I realize they stretch specs. At about 40 feet it did pick me up and the red light signaled that it did, but the 36 segment IR flash didn't fire. It did at around 35 feet and closer but the field of view of the sensor that makes the flash fire appears to be extrememly narrow, almost straight on, unlike the field of view of the lens which is pretty wide.
Is this normal for this type of camera or is there a fault?
It takes 3 different resolutions. I used the best which is 2816 x 2112 pixels to give the best possible shot. That shouldn't have anything to do with the IR sensor's field of view. Attached are a couple that I reduced in size to 800 x 600 but you still see the full field of the lens. The first is about 30 feet from the camera and the second ( washed out one) is within 3 feet.
Any suggestions for mounting distance and height?
