We had rain/snow in N Calif too. Driving to Placerville yesterday, the Sierras looking towards Lake Tahoe was all white. Cool weather here in the foothills.

Not Texas weather, But after hearing the news this evening about Southern Idaho being under a winter storm watch:confused2: I thought I'd bring it here to share with Y'all:D
on another Note: here in Nth-E Ga, the weather seems to have straighten out, we having Normal weather for this time of year, (for a change:cool:)
nights down into the 40's and day times up into 70's low 80's and yes some much needed rain on the way for our Greens crop:thumbsup:

Been awhile since I've seen it that cheap. It's back up to $3.099 at the cheaper places, $3.149 at the others in my neighborhood.

Sorry Bird, I meant diesel was $3.46:D Regular was under $3 though

Here's a photo of a large post oak. It was alive and good in May. Over the last 2 months it began to brown. Yesterday morning I wake up and it looks "weird" out by the deer water trough, actually took me a second to realize what was amiss.

The tree was actually quite large, so I am somewhat surprised it just "snapped " like that. Glad no vehicles , deer or tractor was in the way

The drought didn't kill that tree, it's been dying for years. The heat may have given the fungus a jump on the remaining dead wood.

Ron,
Been seeing those around here for a while now. I have never seen one on wheels. Photos below are of the one that came by when I was digging my pond. Neat item on the machine is the control cab (cage) pivots with the boom so the operator never has to look at the blade.
hugs, Brandi

Brandi,
The one I pictured does all sorts of contortions like that and can run on paved roads or about anywhere as it has a dozer blade on the front. The power company trimming contractor was doing the every 5 year trim of right-a-way along our training ring and lower pasture yesterday and put on quite a show. They were very considerate in waiting a couple minutes until we had the horses locked up before starting.

Geeeez Brandi, That is awful - Now I feel bad...it reminds me of my Dad telling me there is someone always worse off...it is really sad...wow ! 8' , I sure hope you get the rain they are forecasting for parts of Texas...up to 8" I heard on the weather forecast this AM

Bob,
Don't fret. I dug it deep just for this. If we don't get rain soon, I will have to run the water hose into it again. About 8 hours at night puts 6 inches in it.
I am also soaking water in from buckets around some trees near the house that have brown leaves at the top.
hugs, Brandi

hope we get some of that rain down here...just spent 2 days helping friends who got burned out. Not sure how many days I can do. I got burned out in 88 and the smell brings back stuff I thought I had left behind. Tough trying to comfort their loss with all the background noise from 23 yrs ago. Today was a productive day non the less. Used the grapple to pull anything metal out of the ashes to take to recycle. The lady of the house spent most the day sifting ashes through a screen trying to recover anything at all. She wasn't having any luck and about 3:00 I had to ask her to cease cause it was time to scrape the slab clean. Felt like I was pulling hope right out from under her.

I know what you mean, lost my 1st place in 82, wasn't much but all I had. Nothing good ever comes from a fire when everything you have is lost.

We are just over 2" of rain thus far. YAHOOO, bigger storms coming.

Second rain delay at the Rangers game. It looks like west of there is really getting pounded.

Hope it lasts for a while but it's going to take steady rain for a few days to really help. Best wishes.

We left out of Six Flags about 8pm due to some big drops of rain and lighting but as of this posting this part of Dallas as only seen light rain tonight. It is down right chilly outside currently due to very light rain.

I'm real happy to hear about you guys getting rain. It's encouraging that it might make it out this way. We're still at 20 percent for Sunday and 30 percent for Monday.

Went to bed early last night, woke about 11 p.m. It was raining and electricity was off. Called Oncor, restoration expected by 1 a.m. Came back on about 12:30 p.m. Went back to sleep, woke about 4:30 a.m., electricity off again. Called Oncor, restoration expected by 7 a.m. Woke about 6:30 a.m., electricity back on again. Went out about 7 a.m. and poured about 0.74" of rain out of my gauge. Thankful for the rain and more in the forecast.

At the hotel across for Six Flags it was coming a nice rain at 2 am this morning. Accuweather is calling for 2.21 inches still to come and there is some red stuff to the west moving this way.

Not sure if the Zero Gravity or Ft. Worth Zoo will be doable today which are our last two planned two events before we close out out 7500 mile MH road trip and head home today.

At least we will not be driving home in dust storm conditions like we have seen driving across the state this week.

My rain gage shows 4-1/2" this morning. I'm going to leave it and look at it several times today and smile. If it fills to the top (5-1/2") I will empty it, but until it is full, it's the best show in town as far as I'm concerned.:cool2::cloud9:

Wow--glad you are getting that much rain.

So far, we are only at 0.97 for this storm. I am not complaining, that is more rain than we have had in the previous 3 months combined.

Good thing is it is still coming down.

I hope you Texas visitors have a good time and enjoy your stay, I don't know which one of you brought this rain, but "HAT'S OFF!" You probably have seen how bad this is needed and it sure is welcome.

Ft Worth Zoo should be manageable, may have to "duck" for cover, but crowds should be light.

Bird, We had an incredible lightning storm with this rain, only lost Dish network 3-4 times for a while. Seems like every time the wind blows around Corinth, Oncor looses power somewhere.

I haven't gone out to physically check the gauge, but through the binoculars looks like it is approaching 4" not sure though. We have had allot of welcome rain and has been nearly steady since 6pm yesterday.

Eddy, I hope you get some rain, but hopefully will be dry by the time I get into East Texas for work Monday night.

Seems like every time the wind blows around Corinth, Oncor looses power somewhere.

Dennis, for our last 11 years in Dallas before I retired, we lived in an area with all the utilities underground. Very rarely had a power outage and when we did, it was for very short time.

Down in the west end of Navarro County with an electric co-op, we had quite a few outages, usually a couple of hours although one lasted 8 hours.

I thought when we moved back to town we'd have fewer outages. Well, I thought wrong again. With Oncor, we have more frequent outages and they last longer. I think this was the 17th outage I've called to report so far this year. The last one lasted all night. And the oddest thing to me is that we live on a long city block and the power lines run down between the properties behind our house. So they serve the west side of our street and the east side of the street behind us. I drove around before daylight during that last outage and this was the only place the power was off, and there were no Oncor trucks or workers anywhere in the area. So it had to have been turned off and on some distance from here.

But at least it's raining here again.:)
