That 60% chance of rain in the forecast for last night didn't happen, but that 30% chance for today has put a half inch of water in my gauge in the last 20 minutes with some the loudest thunder you'll ever hear, but at least no wind or hail.

You did good Bird! I have been waiting like you since yesterday, not even a sprinkle so far. I did manage to get most of my mowing done, but had to run to town. Had to go all the way to Azle, as every store in Springtown is closed.

Dennis, after that initial downpour, it did slow down a bit, but when it quit about 4 p.m., I went out and poured about 1.68" of rain out of my gauge. Lots of puddles standing in the yards and drainage ditches around here.

And I wanted to get an oil filter wrench today. NAPA, Northern Tool, and Sears were all closed. O'Reilly's and Auto Zone had similar wrenches for $5.99 each, but they weren't exactly what I wanted. So I just got back from Harbor Freight where they had the design I wanted (made in China, of course) and a set of 4 different sizes for $5.99. So now I have 3 that I'll probably never use.:laughing:

Well, at least I was able to take my grandson fishing in our catfish pond and get some revenge for the last time we went fishing when he caught 5 fish and I caught none. Yesterday, he caught a 1 pound catfish and I caugt a 2-1/2 pounder. I kept kidding him that all he caught was a minnow and I caught the only fish.:laughing:

Officially, Denton only got .18" of rain at the airport about 10 miles from us; big difference in that and what we got.

And are you and your grandson eating those fish you caught?

:laughing::laughing::thumbsup: Thats what I used to do when we had a "farm", I'd open the gate and let a few in (fenced yard). Worked great until they got in the wifes flower bed, the one and only time I let calves in with the cows. I should have known better than put in the rambunctious "kids"

May get some rain tonight, but will it hold together?

No planted flowers,just some wild ones She dont like the cow pies left behind,I just tell her its fertilizer and watch your step:laughing: I do mow after cple days with gate open,the lamn mower tires usually spread the cow pies out....

Naw Bird, these are our pet catfish. We just catch them, scratch their bellies 'til they purr, and put them back.

You're smarter than me, I told my wife when she complained about the "pies", " Your jealous because they are more efficient at pie making than you are", that didn't come across as a joke to her, not one bit. Odd thing is, she blamed the cows because the calves are to "cute"! what the?? In the end she is right, even when she may be wrong,,right:laughing:
