Down here the Golden Triangle is Beaumont, Orange and Port Arthur. Rice country.
hugs, Brandi

Brandi, we still have J.C. Penney stores in the Golden Triangle Mall in Denton and in the Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville, but the one that was in the Grapevine Mills Mall had more inventory and better prices. We liked it better than the ones we still have.

And yep, I grew up with some clothes from J.C. Penney in Ardmore, OK. In fact, I still remember going there when I was 15 years old and bought my first store bought shirts; 3 of them to take with me to the Stamps Quartet School of Music in Dallas that summer. Until then, all my shirts were either made by my mother or were gifts.

But from the first grade on, in school, I got 3 new pair of blue jeans to start school each Fall. And I think they probably all came from J.C. Penney.

Charlie,
The problem with the photo is the tractor is just another green tractor and blends into the background.:indifferent: The photo needs a RED tractor to accent the subject.:laughing::cool:
hugs, Brandi

Or an Orange one.........but it's too hot to bring up that discussion again. Just keep the pictures coming, girls.

FG, I think you have a really nice tractor but your fence needs a bit of mending. :)

What did you plant for fall garden?

/ Texas Spring/Summer Thread #5,346
That fence was taken out by the last few storms, as well as years. It is not something to contain critters, so is low priority on my 'to do" list. Glad that you were looking at that Kyle! ;)

I have peppers, tomatoes and squash for the fall harvest.

As far as the "Golden Triangle", yes Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange. My dad used to say, "If God decides to give the world an enema, that's where he will put it!" I spent a lot of time in BPT when I was younger. Like living in a humid sewer, and the smell is about the same too.

"And I dream of a road-trip to Red River, NM, (where the natives complain of a day time high of 85*), but for reasons I don't understand I can't seem to pull it off."

Charlie, I had a rib-eye at Texas Reds in RR a week ago. We have a place down the road in AF. Morning temps were 47-50, highs about 76. Back home in S. central TX now and b u r n i n g u p.....

Crackerjack; I love your sig. Now if it just had a stick instead of a yoke......But it does have the basic 6 pack, so can go wherever, whenever!

Holy Cow. It rained here. 15 whole minutes. The horses were confused. What are these liquid pellets falling from the sky?

Woo Hoo. Downpour Number Two. Longer than the first. If the horse had not tried to eat my rain gauge, I would know how much we received. I am guessing at least .3 between the two cells. The second lasted at least 30 minutes, and was pretty heavy.

If the horse is eating the rain gauge ... Maybe it's time for a equine quality feed ... Can't take much to best the taste of a rain gauge!!! Just having fun!! Happy u got some rain .

Horses love to "play" with stuff. I could walk own the street and check the neighbor's gauge.

Bird-- Time to kick off the Texas Fall/Winter thread, as this one seems to have slowed down. Maybe it will help us think of cool crisp mornings and RAIN.

I'm headed out to do a little Dove hunting this morning. But the birds are pretty safe.....I haven't done this in about 10 years so there maybe quite a bit of fall off in the Marksmanship dept. But it should be fun.

Everyone have a good Labor Day and stay safe.

Charlie
