2-1/2" here so far. It's nice and slow, so it goes down. No chance of flash flooding here unless you're an ant.:D

Thanks Lou,
I'll try again tonight, the crater should not have shifted that much in one day; but they are predicting nasty storms?
It was darker than the inside of a can of un-opended tomato soup here last night.
Usually a full moon at least lights the back of the clouds, but not so here the past 2 nights.

Do you get much woodsheddin time on your guitars?

I got sleepy and went to bed last night before 9 o'clock, but my wife tells me we had a power outage, so she missed the last of the Rangers game. Apparently it didn't last long. And my rain gauge has now gone over 2" and still raining. It's wonderful.

Bird,
Have you kept a record of how much total rainfall you've had this year so far?
It sure seems like a lot more than last year.

A 5 minute window isn't much time to drink a "couple of shots"!!:confused3::D

Ron, it's quit raining here, may start again, but anyway, I just went out and dumped about 2.62" of rain out of my gauge, and that brings my annual total thus far to 23.29" The 2.62" is the biggest rain we've had in 24 hours since March of last year. But for a whole year's total, I've had:
2008 - 35.59
2009 - 52.34
2010 - 41.27
2011 - 29.21
2012 - 28.33

Hobby Airport was in and out of rain and clouds last night. All I got was a fuzzy shot of the moon around 2am. My camera's battery is charing right now, so I have to wait to see how it came out.

On a happier note...........................it's raining here. I'm fixin' to go out and dance a continuance dance. No knee high mocassins now, just rubber boots!

Jinman,

It's still raining and it rained all night. Just checked the guage and we have 3 1/4".

Last night about 1700 we headed south to Mineola and it looked like the bottom was falling out down there and nothing happening to the north. When we got to the new Mexican restaurant in town it was still pouring and we got a little wet getting in the door, but I enjoyed my dash thru the drops.
When we left it rained on us all the way home, then rained fairly slow an steady all night then about 0600 the sky really opened up.

FG,

That "Dancin' with Texans" and Shiner Bock seems to be "Big Medicine".

We should have thought about teaming up earlier in the summer! I haven't had as much as some of you. I am at 1.4", but if you think I am sending it back, you're crazy! Light rain is still falling, and predicted to fall until midnight. This weather sure made a nice day in the barns! Some folks kept asking why I kept going out in the rain, and I just said, I had forgotten what it felt like!

Lou; I have an OLD Martin, as well as a Conn Classical. I LOVE the sound of the Martin, but when I pick, I usually play the Conn. I keep nylon strings on it, and it is easier on the fingers that don't stay in shape. It also has a little wider neck, and that helps, since I tend to keep my fingernails a little longer than most.

Really cool pics of the moon!

Still raining sometimes hard we are at 2.5" now for the day.

I had to take my mother to Austin for her Dr. visit. About 3/4 of the way there we had to cancel and turn around because of Hwy 290 flooding by the toll way construction between Harris Branch and Austin. That area is still under a flash flood warning.

Exactly one inch in the rain gauge. It came in two downpours. It's kicking up again for a third time. Woohoo.

We had 1.5 at noon and has rained whole time since. We had to move cattle last week from some lease places ponds where dry,its good to see getting enough to run off and fill the ones at house up.

Bird, are you sure you didn't empty my gage? That's exactly my total also.:)

And the odd thing, Jim, is that the Denton Airport 10 miles north of me and lot more than that southeast of you shows to have only had 1.21".

Lou,
It's been a sunny 87 deg. day here but now the milk clouds are coming in. According to the radar we will be getting rain made in Texas later tonight and tomorrow. But it may swing north.

There was a picture of the full moon, same date as yours, posted on Wunderground weather from New York.
I reduced yours down to the same size and put them on the same background to compare the location of the Tychos crater. As you can see the crater is further to the right on yours than the one in NY and also the one I took of the super moon this summer.
I think that is the way it is, based on my friend in Florida's pic. Down south the crater is more to the right.
But, of course that all depends if the cameras were held straight or not. :confused2:
I have an electronic level built into my present Canon. I used a little bubble level with my old one.
A lot of folks, including me, have a tendency to hold cameras at a little angle when they think they are level.
I don't know if your Nikon Coolpix P80 has a built in level or not?
Ron

It's been raining since around noon here. At 3pm the rain gage had 1.5 inches. I ran some errands in Conroe and came home to another .5 inch. It is still raining steady. Probably drivers around here now have wipers on next to high speed.
My rye grass is coming up and I just threw out another 5 gallon bucket of seed around the dam and between the pond and driveway. I am soaked. The rye grass seems to filter into runoff pockets and chevron prints and grows, so I spread it while a wet Booger watched from the far side of the pond, near where I parked the Big RED Beast's with the bucket of seed in the loader bucket covered with a board. He is faithful Boogey Woogie Tractor dog.
Bad thing is, it looks like I get to drive to Austin, then San Marcos, then back to Austin tomorrow in all this mess.

FG,
I'll give you a call tomorrow. Got your message, but been running hard since I received it.
hugs, Brandi

Almost 2" here in Colorado County today. Woo Hoo!

Just watched Houston station weather and the front really picked up speed in last 6 hours so most rain should be over mid- morning Saturday. Earlier the farther North you are.

Good deal, bindian! If I miss the call, I'll call you when I am on the road, and let you know more of a schedule, so maybe our paths can cross along the way! :D
