Wow Jim, You're scaring us. Glad you were in the Dr. office and glad to here you're doing better, and yes Getting old Sux, but it beats the alternative.

Jim you and my wife much have someone looking out for Y'all.. Her heart stopped on the 23rd,, she was at the right spot at the right time.. they got it beating again.. Now she healthier than before.. Now we know what the problem was.. Just like you.. good luck Jim.. Lou

So I've been wanting a 3/4 impact for like,,,,forever.
The below picture was the only one for the auction. I thought, "Man, I sure would like that 3/4" impact there on top. So I bid a bit high taking a chance on it. Low and behold, the back bucket had 5 more 3/4" impacts besides the 2 in the front bucket. So now I have 3/4" impacts coming out my ears. They are all Snap On, Blue Point, and Ingersoll Rand. Bird, I know you've repaired a bunch of air tools in the past, so I might be hitting you up in the next few weeks for some words to the wise as I sort out what I have and see what it will take to get them going.
One thing is for sure. They are heavy!

Snap On branded tools are usually not guaranteed. Snap On Tools Blue Point brand is the guaranteed one. Those, and Ingersoll Rand can be sent in and rebuilt. I would like to take one off your hands. Just google Snap On or Ingersoll Rand to find out where to send it for rebuild or repair. Are any working?

Maybe so, but that was not true in the past. They ALL have a guarantee for a specified period of time, but there's no "lifetime" guarantee on any of their power tools; only their "hard iron" (i.e., hand tools).
As can Chicago Pneumatic and tools made by Ingersoll Rand and Chicago Pneumatic for other companies and branded MAC, Matco, Cornwell, etc.
Snap-On built quite a reputation and is the "preferred" brand by many people who believe Snap-On is the best. Well, that's kind of like saying the brand of tractor you own is the best brand. I can assure you that Snap-On (and their Blue Point brand) are good, but no better than MAC, Matco, and Cornwell. And if you DO ever need parts, you'll pay a lot more for Snap-On parts than for any other brand. Of course their parts are not interchangeable with anyone else's, while the other tool trucks are selling their own "brand" but all made by CP or IR so the parts are cheaper and interchangeable.
While my brother was a Matco Tool Distributor, he was also friends with his Snap-On competitor, so the Snap-On distributor also sent me tools to repair because I'd get them back to him much faster than if he sent them in to Snap-On for repair, and of course, I used genuine Snap-On parts.
My primary source of parts, information, copies of parts breakdowns, etc., when I was in that business, was Air Tech Tool Service, Inc., 325 City Ave, Beckley, WV 25801. The last I heard was that the company had sold to a larger outfit, but still had the same employees.

Your spot on the Snap On (limited) and Blue Point (lifetime) guarantee on hand tools. Mechanics go with Snap On because their tool trucks come around on a regular basis. I tell new Mac and Matco dealers I'll buy from them if they are still around in 3-6 months. They never make it. I have a Snap On 1/4 inch pneumatic ratchet I have to send out every 10 years or so for head rebuild..........just hand it to my dealer. I have a Mac butterfly impact that was dropped off a 10 foot ladder while securing a Boeing 737 radome and broke the butterfly mount. I went online to ask for a Mac dealer to talk to sent it in for repair and Mac Tools told me to send it such and such place. I emailed back for a price and got nothing..............so when I buy quality pneumatic tools...............it's just like buying a tractor.............I buy the best after purchase service. With Snap On, you pay for convenience like home milk delivery and doctors that make house calls.
Sheetmetal pneumatic tools are a bit different. I bought a used Arrow pneumatic drill from an aviation tool vender that bulk purshased whole lots when Piper's Lock Haven plant shut down. I have been using Arrow drills since the 1970s. I also purschased a Chicago Pneumatic 4444 Rutab rivet gun used back in the 1980s also. Both are still working well. Rebuild for the Arrow, now, cost more then the drill cost new, around $380 in the mid 1980s.
Whatever you buy, you need to have infor on where to get parts and repairs or rebuilds.
But now adays....................rechargeable tools are replacing pneumatic tools. Even with Impact "guns". I have a AC Delco 1/4 ratchet I use every night. Now my Snap On air ratchet is like the Maytag repair man.
I use a 12 volt Makita impact gun every night also.
