Whatever you buy, you need to have infor on where to get parts and repairs or rebuilds.

Very true. And I sure don't blame anyone for buying Snap-On, or one of the other brands, if that's the one that's most reliable in the long run. It's actually a pretty tough business. When my brother got into the Matco Tool truck business, I went with him to Ohio to their training program. So I pretty well know what's required to be a tool distributor for those companies. It's definitely not for the lazy folks, or those unwilling to work long hours.

If your Snap-On guy or your Matco guy seems to always magically show up when you need something, you will pay a premium for the convenience (and mind reading ability).

The successful ones make good money but, do work long hours, as noted by Bird.

The point I was making is Snap On Tool dealers are dependable and regular. Mac and Matco have never been, as I have seen in over 30 years of being an aircraft mechanic. More undependable is Cornwell or Cornwall dealers.

I've been too busy to be here much lately. And I get back and what so I find? Some of you are trying to fall apart!!!

jinman; Glad that you are OK. Had to be scary. Pharmaceuticals can be a curse. I do my best to refrain from using them. And as others have stated, rest a few days, and get ready to replant tomatoes and drag hoses!

jisgren: Nice new tractor!! Congrats!! Yes, get a canopy. I love mine. However, I sure get tan under it, in the summer! It offers sun protection from about 1030 until about 1330. If I had lights on top of mine, I'd end up knocking them off, sooner or later, with a tree branch, or some brush. Same thing would happen to me with lights on top of the ROPS.

I lost all of my squash and about 1/3 of my tomato plants to the freeze Monday night. Been working on getting the garden replanted in the evenings. I got the squash seeds in last night. Now if the rain would arrive tomorrow, that would be great. What really hurt with the tomato plants, was many already had nice little tomatoes on them!!

Seems like the wind has just been wicked and relentless. It blew some sheet metal off of a side of my horse barn. Nothing like more projects to do! Might have to ask a neighbor to give an extra set of hands, so that I can get that piece back up, but it might take me a few days to get to that point. This time of year sure can get busy!

Now, if I have to be away from here a day or two, would y'all mind not trying to make things too eventful?

I only dumped .14 out of the gauge yesterday, sure not what I was hoping for. I ended up loosing every tomato and replanted yesterday:mur:

Jisgren, beautiful tool you got there, even if you did overpay for "Green":laughing: Ribbing ya, I had a JD 950 4x4 and it was the handiest tractor I ever had, even if it was made over seas! I had turf tires on it and used it like many use an ATV...You will have that one for alongggg time.

This one is supposed to be made in Georgia, but I am not sure what that means anymore as parts are made all over. I did not have much choice in tractor brands. My father has wanted to be a farmer his entire life, but lives in the Chicago suburbs. Ever since he was little he wanted a JD tractor. So I am living his dream for him.

Got a bunch of toys (I mean tools) to go with it. Grapple, flail mower, box blade, rake, stump grinder, harrow, forks and spear. Instead of paying someone to clear a small portion of timber one time, I am trying to get where I can do it myself and then maintain the rest.

I was surprised that the Kubota in this range was not significantly less expensive.
