The rain almost quit around 4 p.m., so I went out and poured about 1.83" out of the gauge, but it's raining now. Today was garbage collection day here in town and the big garbage truck stopped one house north of us and sat there through the heaviest downpour, loud thunder, and lightning; about an hour.:laughing: And I said today was the biggest rain in 2 years, but I overlooked the 2.42" we got one day last September and 2.00" one day a year ago last January.

Well, much ado about not much. About 3/4 in. in the gauge this morning. The weathermen had us all "battening down the hatches" last night, but the storm was almost a non-event. A little thunder and some rain and then gone. They were predicting 2-6 in. in our part of East Texas.........missed us here.

Today they're saying good chance to rain most of the day, we'll see. A long slow rain would be welcome. Went out to check the gauge in a t-shirt & sweat pants........it's a little chilly out there, 57*. That was a surprise.

Gus-- Like the mural, but hurry yourself back home to Texas.

My total was about 2.13" of rain, and 54 degrees this morning was a bit surprising, but I'm glad of it.

about 2 in. in the gauge overnight. Quite the lights show starting at 10 p.m., and winds and rain starting about 12:30 a.m. Still raining off and on, and a cool and breezy 57.

Rick-- You're more than half way home!!! Hope you have a safe and not too bumpy flight the rest of the way. Congrats on the rain.......everything will seem a lot greener than when you left.
