If you really think the dealer is throwing all that in for free.....

Dealers have to make a living just like everyone else; the margins are not that great. Do you really think the dealer will jump for you if you knock his legs out from under him? Negotiate yes but don’t screw him, he will remember and take great joy in extracting it out of you three fold over the long run.

I don't think you will regret the 790. I have had one for about a year now and love it. Very simple and easy to maintain. I might suggest you ask dealer about a canopy, the deere models are very nice and not a lot more than others, I don't know who actually makes them but they fit the non-folding rollbar nicely.My dealer actually replaced the factory battery with a new one after I told him about complaints on this board,I have had no problems with the tractor. My only negative comment would be the noise level (I wear hearing protection anyway but it seems the noise could be lower).Congratulations and have fun!

"I am already going to ask about getting hooks welded on the FEL bucket"...

See if the bucket top should be reinforced for the hooks...
I used a U shaped channel iron (~1/4" x 1 1/2" x 4") welded on upside down across the bucket's width with grab hooks welded onto this... Prevents the bucket from bending !

Well, I closed the deal on Saturday, getting really excited, dealer will make delivery (50 miles away, no charge) this Friday. I am going to take a day of vacation, so if the weather will cooperate I should be able to get in some good seat time.

I was very pleased overall with the process, I dealt with the manager and he will be making delivery hiimself and told me he would be happy to spend time with me going over the operation of the tractor.

The tractor had .1 hours on the meter, .3 after I was done with an additional test drive!

He is going to weld hooks on the bucket, (thanks for the tip on the angle iron dave, I will give him a call today).

I also went over the battery issue, the dealer told me he has already addresses two warranty issue's related to the battery and that the 790 now has a different battery. Anyway I will keep a close eye on it, and change out if necessary before any serious problem might develop.

Anyway, I can't wait for Friday to get here, (have been having a hard time sleeping already /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) will post pics next weekend,
