Was just looking around on the other tractor board and wanted to reply to a post. I had registered about a month ago and I thought all I needed was the code number I was sent to post. When I went to reply, it had a "requiured field" asking for my email address. Why do they need this? I already registered with them and gave them that info (something I loathe to do). Is this a method used to cut down the volume of posts.

Thanks Muhammed (sp?) for enabling posts by both registered and non-registered users. Also, for providing me a place to use the word "loathe" for the first time since 9th grade english.

Gomez,
When I pull up tractorbynet, I log on. Then after you log on, you can post as many replys as you want without having to use your e-mail again. But, I usually FORGET to log out, so I don't have to log back in.

Actually, if your computer is secure, in that nobody but you will use it, it makes it easier if you can stay logged in. The cookie should hold your login session for quite a while... until December 31st, 2020, to be exact. (Then you'll have to login again)

I only log out to do testing 'n stuff. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Well, we try. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Ideally, everyone who wanted to post would register, since registered users see so many more features like display preferences, private messages, e-mail notifications, etc. But we understand that not all users want to give out there e-mail address or register. But keep in mind that we have the profiles set up so that a member can keep their e-mail address completely private. And if a member doesn't have an e-mail address on their profile, they can still receive private messages so private communication between them and other registered users can still go on without having to give an e-mail address out to the public.
