rkidd,

Anybody that built a ballast box like yours, knows what they are doing. It looks like you can vary the weight as needed, and it does not take up as much space to the rear like a Box Blade. Nice job.

One thing that occurred to me is that my Box Blade, being hooked up via Quick Hitch plus the length of the arms, probably added more effective weight ballast than merely the weight of the box blade by itself. ...guessing that is.

Cheers,
Mike

Just to make sure you all notice it, I don't like scratching paint so I made chain hook mounting plates that bolt to the frame where the steel shipping crate was attached. No modification to the tractor, simply bolt on and I have a place to set 3/8" chain for binding to the trailer. You may wish to create a similar item for yours so that you do not have to damage paint. Good addition of the hooks.

I got my plow frame all cut apart and put back together correctly tonight.

Going to look at a 3pt snow blower in the morning. Of course I will have pictures if I come home with it.

Hey Mike. Having the weight farther out back can sure make some difference. I sure hope your dealer gets your tractor all sorted out for you. Once they get it where it supposed to be, you will really enjoy it. As I said, I have almost 800 hrs on mine doing all kinds of chores and it has been absolutely trouble free and a workhorse. Good luck.

I woke up to 2 more triaxle loads of debris, so I got to have some Sunday B2650 tractor fun! The more I play with this man toy, the more I love it!IMG_20180211_094825455.jpgIMG_20180211_094857829.jpgIMG_20180211_124448286.jpg

Hey Rock,

If you ever want a MMM for the B2650, you might have to remove or redesign the chain hooks......because that's where the hardware for the MMM front link hooks up. But you probably already know that........just sayin'

Cheers,
Mike

I have the oversized tires, so the MMM miss out of the question. Once you upgrade to the bigger width and diameter tire package, the tires are occupying space that a MMM would need. That said, I would find a MMM to be a miserable accessory, on and off with a 3 point finish mower is seconds, while on and off of a MMM is a process. For a person that will install a MMM and leave it in for weeks or months, I can absolutely see the attraction. For me it would be pain.

I'm getting a 72" Woods 3 point finish mower. That should give me about the best cut quality that can be bought, and about the highest quality mower that can be bought.

Ended up getting the plow cut apart and fixed last night. Went and looked at a 3pt blower this morning and could not pass the deal up. Here is the snow unit.

Nice. I've bought my add on implements used as well, I spent about 25% of new cost, and after painting them Rust-Oleum Kubota orange... They work and look like new.

Hopefully you get the same experience that I have so far. I think that most of these older/used implements were built very strong and heavy, so there is still a massive amount of service life left in them under the faded paint and surface rust.

Tractor Supply has that Rust-Oleum, and Harbor Freight has a 36 pack of brushes for like 5 bucks. Then...LOL... Do what I did and order those $2.75 Kubota stickers so that your old implements not only look knew and are color matched... But they are even branded Kubota to those who see you out working

It's all about perception
