What is OTT? Not familiar with any other tractor sites.

Orange tractor talks dot com. It's a forum dedicated to Kubota tractors and equipment. Similar to green tractor talk dot com.

Kubota Insurance is mandatory for Kubota products purchased under financing issued by Kubota Credit Corporation. As such it's mainly to insure the covered tractor and equipment is fully paid off to Kubota, and Kubota avoids a major loss, regardless of the situation, whether its fire, theft or even transportation accidents. It's a pretty wide ranging insurance policy because it needs to protect both Kubota Corporation and the customer.

Insurance is mandatory for Kubota financing by Kubota Credit not Kubota insurance. My tractor is currently financed by Kubota but my insurance is through another source.

In my situation (new tractor purchase 11/5/2020) KTAC was not "mandatory" when I bought the tractor. I could have added the tractor to my homeowners policy or purchased a separate policy from State Farm or elsewhere to cover the tractor in an event of a loss. KTAC was less expensive than coverage offered by others and cost significantly less than what my State Farm agent quoted. SF corporate classified my tractor as heavy equipment and that bumped it up into a whole new premium structure. KTAC also covers the tractor in transit, off site, on road, acts of stupidity and much more.

Just reporting my situation...your situation may vary.

Back to the tractor that got burned up in an incineration pit and an untouched loader.

I didn't see the OP's posts which he apparently deleted. However, after reading through all of the comments I believe that I can safely say; Friends don't let friends borrow their tractor.
It's unfortunate that he had to find out the hard way.

I didn't finance through Kubota, but did look into their insurance a while back because it seems like better coverage. I would still have needed the liability through my auto policy, as I'm constantly on the road in front of my house. (It's even my main skid trail.)
I never followed through on it though and now that my tractor is paid off I don't believe that they would insure me.

I only lend my tractor out with the operator included (Me!). The only exception is my neighbor across the street. His wife works at the Kubota dealership as a service writer, so I figure they can somehow make good on anything that gets damaged in their care.

Kubota insurance was not required when I financed my tractor through Kubota. I did have to verbally confirm and sign that the tractor was otherwise insured.
I'm insured via homeowners for fire and theft, on my property only, no commercial use.
I've heard nothing but good opinions on Kubota Insurance... Not too expensive, and covers practically everything.

Incorrect!

As others have posted as long as you have verifiable homeowners insurance that will cover the tractor you don't have buy KTAC to get the 0% financing through Kubota.
