No, I think the QA plate for the 1400 series is 5/8. I think they use different thickness for the different loads involved. The plate I am talking about is the plate that stays on the PT> They say that the implements will not interchange

The 180 plate I know is smaller (not as wide, can't remember height) than the 4xx series QA plate. I think the steel used is the same thinkness though. )</font>

It also has round holes and not square. I believe that the different versions are intentionally designed to be incompatible. If they were not people would buy the ones for smaller machines and tear them up real easily on the bigger machines. IMHO

FYI I just spoke to Scott at PT, who was gracious enough to call me back twice. I explained the idea of this 'gardening, or grubbing bucket', and he seemed encouraging. He will check with the design staff and see if they are interested in building such a creature. Perhaps there is hope without needing to spend so much money for those of us who always seem to be digging up shrubs, trees, and bushes and replanting!

Seems like an ideal tool for their target market of landscapers.

Hi guys -

I got a negative response to my suggestion of PT building a grubbing bucket. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I then suggested that perhaps they could weld a 13" backhoe bucket to a quick-attach plate and that would work. They are willing to sell me the backhoe bucket, and the QA plate, but will not weld it. Oh well. It is still a nice idea.
