MF products are made both in India and I believe in Pakistan so those classic MF designs are live and well :)

The 35,135 and 235 with relatives must one of the most produced tractor designes in the world, the MF 35 that came in the late fifties are still made today.

Finally got around to putting the wheel back on the tractor and using the rotary on the tall section of my back yard. It was so wet in the spring that it grew out of control, couldn’t get it cut with the zero turn. I’ll hit it with the flail once I fix the hood on it, really clean it up.

Still have to mount the right side wheel weight and put the chains on that side as well. Also need to put a tail wheel on the rotary. Too busy this year...

Finally got my flail mower straightened out. It’s a cobjob but it’ll work for now.

Went over the rough cut area I posted above to smooth it out. Hoping it’ll green up a bit before winter sets in. It’s short and smooth enough now to hit it with the zero turn. The following pics give you an idea of how much the flail smooths it out.

To post pics, here's my method.

First size your pic, I use 1280x720 pix.
In the reply area, click on "Go Advanced".
At the top row of icons, left end, there's a blue A, click on that turning off the blue.
Place your cursor where you want the pic to be placed. I usually use a couple lines below my last comment.
Then in the second row of icons, fourth from the right, is a square pic with black dots at the corners, click on that.
A small screen appears, I select "from computer", then click on "browse".
This allows you to search for the pic you want from your computer database.
Find that pic, click on it, then click on "open".
Then click on "upload"
Depending on your computer speed this might take a couple seconds to several and the pic will show up where you placed your cursor.
If you want the pic to be larger, double click on it.
This will open another window and you can choose the size you desire. I use full size.
Now your pic is posted at the size you want, click on "submit reply" at the bottom right.

Your result will look something like this. :)

Snagged this little LJ500 stand on skid steer a few days back. I still haven't gotten around to putting the wheel weight back on the 35, the tire chain, and loading the tire. The LJ500 weighs about a ton which made my 35 a little light in the rear right side even with the 650lb flail mower on it.

Now to figure out what's wrong with the skid steer. Came with pallet forks, too. Wisconsin Robinson engine (9hp maybe?) I saw this thing running last year so it shouldn't take too much to get it going.

Also of note: my tilt cylinder needs a rebuild on the MF35. I used to be able to curl this much weight quite easily. That's not so anymore. In fact, it'll curl maybe half way, then start to drift back down if I keep on the lever. So that's another job for this summer, repack the tilt cylinder. Shouldn't be too bad.

Also, I FINALLY got around to reinstalling the wheel weight. Next, the tire chains for this side:

I like your wheel weight installation method.

Back home in Montana it was time or past time to take the chains off for the summer?

Do you just keep them on for traction?

Thanks! I'm about to pick up two more wheel weights, probably around 200lbs each for just $100 today after work. They won't stack nicely, but I don't do much in tight quarters and I really need the traction. I leave my chains on year round, the tires have seen better days and I need all the help I can get. Without them, the moment the ground gets slick, I just sit and spin.

Couldn't edit my previous post. Snagged those cast weights yesterday. I'll have to make an adapter ring to fit them to my current weights, should be a fun little project.

My dad, brother-in-law, and nephews worked today to get the old MF 35 Deluxe running. It has been sitting for close to 18 years is our guess. They got it up and running. Still needs some more work (tires, radiator flush, etc.), but it is back to life.

View attachment 657930 I put the old TO 35 to work today pulling out an old gate post that I put in 40 years ago.
View attachment 657932 I have owned this tractor since 1980, a good old machine. In this shot you can see the large thorns on that locust tree, especially if you click on the picture to make it bigger.

I'm no longer running cattle, thus I am tearing out the old delipidated fence and clearing a bunch of brush, hedge, and locust to make it more pleasant for walks in the woods.

Cool. The Company that made those weights is still in business. Here's a link to their website. Nice purchase.

Rowe Foundry – Quality Gray Iron Castings

Yep, I saw that they were still in business. I wish there was a casting number or something on them so I could find out the weight and year of casting. Suffice to say, they’re really haven’t. Gotta be 200lbs, as I weigh 155 and can quite easily do several pull-ups, took me and the seller givin’ it what we got to get them in my truck!

Now to find time to make an adapter ring and mount them!

BRMeyers and shovelmike- great pics and story!

Finally upgraded to an alternator a few weeks ago. Huge difference, even the governor seems more responsive. My generator finally died. On the hut for some decent used 7.5x16 implement tires now, something 8ply to hold up to loader use. Mine are like baloney skins. It's either that, or I gotta try to replace the front right tube because the valve stem is shot and leaks like crazy on the outside of the threads where the rubber delaminated. Trying not to spent too much money here...

After burying a deer we found dead in our back yard. Smelly.

Edit: yes, I need to cut down the field. No time and I’m about to split the machine.
