Doubtful. Massey doesn't really need to claim anything besides Massey Ferguson, Ferguson, and Massey Harris production #'s to get a high total. They stuck with a proven design for several decades, just recently giving up on a design concept that's been around since the early 1950's.
I've owned about every brand of small utility tractor made over the years. I'll argue with anyone ANYTIME, that the MF 35/135-50/150 was (still is?) the best tractor of its size EVER. Simple, durable, efficient, reliable, and has incredable resale value.

What is it they say? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?" i think all of the designers share the same CAD software and come up with different versions of the same machine. we need another Leowy and Dreyfus (They "styled the old Farmalls and John Deeres).

It is my understanding that Masseys are really popular in the rest of the world and are more popular with full size tractor owners than CUT owners. They used to be more popular in this country years ago and just may not be that common in your area. I bought a 240 in '84 and loved it. It was my first new tractor after owning used Fords. I chose it over a Kubota. At that time, Kubotas were not as well known around here as Masseys, so times do change.

I stated in the "world" in agricultrial tractors.
Massey is the number one tractor worldwide in units sold and in use. Granted, MF isn't popular everywhere. I have one and it's probably the only one in 3 quare miles.
Like I said before, I thought it was JD simply because all I see around here is JD. That's why I have a Kubota too. More colors.

It is amazing how many tractors that Massey has built in the U.S., Poland, Turkey, England, France and Brazil.
