Once MLB went on strike in the 90's I stopped watching them. Little league, grade school and high school sports are more enjoyable to watch.
I listened to many radio shows when I was young because my parents had the radio on. Some of the sports announcers were so good that I could close my eyes and picture what was happening almost like watching TV. I always thought that this was good training for imagination and imagination can lead to creation and invention and should be encouraged.I can remember when I was a kid, listening to Joe Louis boxing matches on the radio. My Dad was a fan, and I became a fan also.
I think kids often have amazing imagination...
