The ROPS Police - fact or fiction?

TBN is all about sharing opinions and experiences. In fact, this thread was started by someone expressing their opinion that "There have always been posters who insist that drilling a hole in the ROPS or doing anything to the ROPS will void your new tractor warranty." (The opinion part being the phrase 'There have always been....", key word being 'always')

I agree:
It's foolish to modify / change the ROPS in any way when there are ways to accomplish this just as effectively without touching the ROPS .

I think that the ones claiming that are confusing Relieving the dealer / manufacture of liability in a safety issue with the dealer/Manufactures responsibility or obligation concerning product performance.

If drilling or welding the Rops voided the warranty wouldn't removing it also void the warranty?
