When I traded Lucy straight across for Lucille, Lucy was the C5500 welding rig, Lucille is the 2002 3500HD, the one with the 19.5 wheels, Lucille had ten inch steps. Wife hated that step, insisted upon a running board. So Lucille has a cab length running board on the passenger side and a ten inch steel step on the driver痴 side. I haven稚 met anyone who can see both sides at the same time.

BTW, Lucy was the kind of truck you marry, Lucille is the kind you date.

I think Bayou is the perfect name for your Power Wagon.

You guys are really great for hanging in with me. You all have more patience than you realize.

It wasn't my money, no worries:D

That REALLY is a nice truck. I'm in my 50's and never have owned a new vehicle in my life (probably the newest I've bought was 3-4 years old with 65k on it). Probably never will (own a new vehicle) because I see it too much as a losing investment, but you had me looking at NEW truck prices after seeing your pics.

BB1 - it's not gonna get much brighter today. So - more pics in the fog. The receiver is like my Ford - a square tube - 2.5". Unfortunately, the Ford tube is smaller. So - some day I'll need a new 2.5" drop hitch. I haven't towed anything in the last 20 years - so it's not a high priority. BOY - a good strong set of running board sure is.

A strange situation - the humidity is so high and with the fog - I had to go to a camera setting without the flash. The flash was causing the little bit of fog and high humidity to almost completely mask all the photos.

Obviously, a pretty slow shutter setting also. The next set will be with the big Canon on a tripod. These pics serve this situation but are not what I want to retain in any album. With the Canon I can get "National Geographic" quality photos.

That's OK Sigarms - believe me. I have NEVER spent this much money on a vehicle. H**L - our brand new split level house in Anchorage - 1976 -was $78K. NEVER - in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought I would have to spend this kind of money to get a new vehicle.

But - in all likelihood - it's probably the last vehicle I will ever own.

I missed it. What is this for? The bed cover? How does it work if that's what it's for? Is is a "factory built in bed cover"? With the rails on the side, cover is the best guess, just have no clue how it would work.

Yes I did. The reality is it had nothing to do with your truck but was a "side comment" and I didn't want to take away from the thread.

However, since you asked:D...

I just didn't know that they're making Dodge in Mexico now. If there was ever an "American" company, Dodge would be one of them in my own mind.

Ironically enough, at about 0630 this morning (while I was reading your last post), was on the phone about an HVAC manufacturer that was bringing out a new 16 SEER line from Mexico. Seems less and less is actually made in the US, and per the post I deleted, you can buy a Toyota (or Honda) that IS made in the United States. Go figure.

Before you know it, it won't be worth anyones time to make things in the US because of the cost of wages vs the cost of sales. BUT, they still of this day make foreign vehicles in the United States. Go figure.

All about NAFTA and the horrible trade imbalances. Stripped this country of manufacturing and corporate profits. Allows us plebes to replace the lost taxes. Say what you want about Trump, but he recognized that poor legislation straight away.

I feel ya, on the wait. I remember waiting on my Jeep Commander. Seems that after the sale was made, I was the only one excited about delivery. Didn't appear to be any problem for the dealer/Jeep to add a day or three each time I asked where it was. :D

Hang in there....

Beautiful truck. Glad you finally got it. Really high ground clearance and looks like about a foot between the rear tire and fender wheelwell. Best of luck with your new toy.

You guys in Mn have cheap gas. I just checked gas buddy here and todays prices per gallon range from $2.32 Reg, 2.62 Midgrade, and 2.99 Premium and 2.99 for diesel.

OK Sigarms - your post #94 and highlighted area. That is what Ram calls the "RamBox" feature. There is one on each side. It's a lockable storage area. It's really deep and can be used to store most anything. It's also lockable. The "box" is a large heavy duty plastic storage bin. Has drain holes on the bottom. First suggestion made by the salesman - 40# of crushed ice - half a dozen cases of beer on each side. Pull the drain plugs prior to adding the ice. Become the "life" of any gathering. This Ram Box takes up the entire space between the exterior wall of the bed and the inner wall of the bed. It's a box inside the bed walls of the pickup.

This "Ram Box" feature is what is making it so difficult to find a tonneau. The outside edge of any tonneau must be inside the hinge of the box. Otherwise the lid to the box can not be opened. It would appear that any type of cover or tonneau will have to be inside the bed of the truck. There can be no flap or seal of any kind running down the top of the bed - it would interfere with the opening of the Ram Box. I may learn to live with no cover/tonneau.

A picture is better than any explanation.View attachment 589854View attachment 589855

#1 Great idea of utilizing wasted "useable" storage area.

#2 Horrible idea by the salesmen of using Alcohol as example product to transport utilizing this feature and benefit on a vehicle.

#3 Pics work great for idiots like me, explains everything! Pretty neat.

One last dumb question... I assume the silver railing inside the bed is the hinges for the "box feature"? What does the black item do? (highlighted in the pic).
